  1. Haven't used one personally and have heard good things but that said Iv also seen a lot of them cracking....
  2. We use a company called practicality brown, you best bet if your looking to gain some more experience and there always after lads
  3. Huge huge bug bare of mine this first aid stuff, I was arborist from school untill joining the army at 21 and been back doing it 2 years now after leaving the forces. I have seen first hand what a CAT and cellox can do and that's save a life, and it's great to see the industry is starting to high light the fact a plaster and eyewash isn't good enough as a first aid kit. Having the right kit is great, but training is what's needed, like it's been mentioned, when things goes wrong it's not like the movies, a CAT isn't an easy thing to put on when you have an arterial bleed, and how many know the correct way to put them on ect, large wound dressings, not enough people know how much blood they hold and how much blood the body can loose before you need serious help, and all this info is stuff you need to know to then Be able to pass on to the paramedics when they arrive on scene. Sorry if that sounds like a rant and it's not ment to be, it's through no fault of anyone's that people don't know what to do, and it's only because I have served in afghan ect that I know what to do. Company's need to do more in regards to first aid training, and providing the correct kit on the trucks, I don't understand how you can pass an AA assessment with halfords first aid kits in your vans?
  4. http://Www.facebook.com/heritagetreecraftltd 👍 check out my new page and give it a like 😊
  5. Will do mate 👍 and thank you
  6. Time for the truck to start earning me money, signs on and first quote this morning 👍 start small think big
  7. 4 bolts drilled in through the lip of the metal, it's real light weight so the 4 hold it strong in place And no, got to do it the old school way of shovel and hard work lol
  8. So been building a box, very slowly for the l200...I'm setting up on my own and this is ideal for the small jobs and to get me started, took me about 3 weekends to put the box together but she's finally on and I'm happy with the results. Iv ordered the signage to go on the box and that arrives this week so will up date with pics when it comes. As for cost, £48 all in to build and had a lot of help from the wife's dad. Pics aren't great but gives you an idea of how it was built
  9. I was also told not to use it because it static, I run it drt with a hitch climber and love it, and like that it is a little static
  10. Thanks buddy il be in touch and see what you can do 👍
  11. Not harsh in the slightest, the bloke is a con artist, great with his words and can make you his friend in minutes, I left a month before he went bust and so glad I did, his name is dirt In the industry and I know so many people that would like to meet him walking down a dark ally. Did he tell you that's not his stump grinder to sell?
  12. Oh he was a cracking bloke, well lucky for me I left for contracting before he went bust and I'm glad I did as he sacked/told the two lads let by text that there was no more work and left them right in it. Couldn't of happened to a nicer bloke. No I haven't either mate, be nice to make friends In business and work along side company's, different people can bring different elements to a job I say
  13. Compete with long standing AC, won't be any competition 😉 haha take it you heard George Lucas went bust?
  14. Oh his village is first on the list to get flyers 😂 then I'll take the rest of rugby
  15. Iv only ordered 50 as its my first order with vista print mate. Bit of a price difference when vista is £300 for that many!
  16. Me personally? Get my trainers on, put the lead on the dog and go for a walk lol! Avoid paying for someone to do it for me when I can do it myself. But I'm sure others have different ways mate. Best thing about doing it yourself, Iv actually had people call me or come find me minutes after posting the flyer, and then been able to quote straight away
  17. I like the sound of that and would be interested in price ect
  18. It's good to see in not the only one that thinks flyers is a good option, it's exactly what I'm doing and just ordered my first batch from vista print , most direct way to hit the customer and build a customer base up. Iv worked for company's that use this approach, and we was easily getting 2-3 quotes extra in a day from flyers alone
  19. Although a lot of people here will say it's *****, flyers work really well in my experience, and it's a more direct route to the customer
  20. I would say no, my old boss loved the idea and payed the extra, was like a kid at Christmas and we all told he they were rubbish after about 5 minutes work, they would be great if they got warm but they get toooooo hot mate, there's no medium setting
  21. Iv just taken out insurance with Arborisk can't recommend them enough, ask for scott 👍
  22. I'm near rugby too if you want to hook up for a rec climb. My advise, like others is climb, best way to build up ability is with confidence, Find a nice already beech, doesn't ha e to be huge, just something with a wide canopy, like ladders to climb. Climb around the whole tree, practice redirects ect

    Arborisk

Evening all, Just wanted to give a quick review and some feed back on Arborisk, if anyone is looking for insurance I would highly recommend them.... I'm setting up on my own and wanted to do it properly, so insurance had been high on my priorities, Arborisk came highly recommend from arbtalk memebers and I can see why, the guy I delt with was great, gave me loads of useful info and helped me with my application, I heard a lot of people say they found Arborisk hard to get j contact with but I struggle to see why, from my first email to being insured it took two days....great service and response time. Also can't believe that my business insurance is cheaper than my car insurance....but hey ho, got a great deal for Public liability, employer liability, tool cover and plant hire cover. I really do recommend them for your looking for insurance, ask for scott say you spoke to Kyle and come recommended from arbtalk and may be offered a better deal Cheers for your time 👍
