    Typical

this is a common problem in the army, and have suffered from it myself its not pleasent, its good to see people are aware that resting up is not going to solve the problem. i do alot of weight training so my back (lower) is getting stronger. a good exercise for you tree monkey, once you have got out of a hot bath, lay on the floor face down, put your handsunder your shoulders and push yourself up tilting your head back untill you start to fell presure on your lower back, hold it for 20-30 seconds and push a little further for another 5 seconds, release and repeat this 4-6 times. try and do it in the morning and at night before bed. should work for you mate or atleast make it feel a little more comfortable and loosen it up.
  3. need to do my medium and large fell, been looking at wind blown aswell as my company does emergency call out so would come in handy and also enhance my experience. wouldnt mind doing the dismantling aswell jake just to have it on my cv. level 2 certarb would be good as i started it, passed the 1st part but then left to join the army so never finished it. i think 2013 will be all about education and climbing.
  4. Same mate, give up smoking. also look at getting some more courses under my belt to broaden my cv.
  5. Zig zag

im kinda old school and have always climbed on a prussik, but considering pre ordering the zigzag, looks like a really good bit of kit, have thought about the spiderjack but it looks a little too complicated for my simple mind the zigzag on the otherhand looks easy to use and easy to set up....one thing that concerns me is wet/icey weather usage??
  10. Hey folks! bit of a newbie here, been on the site a wile browsing just not posted up anything. so after serving in the army for the last 4 years i am now a free man again and its back to being an arborist cant wait for the new year and the new start, got a week of climbing with beechwood (coventry) after a trial day yesterday, which could lead to a full time job. been on a spending spree aswell as its christmas, treated myself to the husky/petzl helmet yesterday, which by the way is a cracking bit of kit. oh for the record i went in tho tree care from school, did it for almost 5 years before having a break and serving with the army. looking forward to getting involved with the site and getting to the shows in the summer, got 4 years to catch up on
  11. Hey everyone, im looking at a new harness for christmas, now i have heard so many good things about the skylotec....but not had a chance to use one, are they like a petzl harness? because i cant work with them atall, they seem to give me a really bad back.....from what i hear and have seen from pictures the skylotec buts the climbers weight more on the legs and more central, over having the pressure on your pelvic/lower back area? what are your guys thoughts and opinions? cheers
  12. Hey, i am free next week, i am based in warwickshire so a bit of a drive for me...got all my tickets but happy working the ground or sharing the climbing....i can send you my cv to have a look at if your interested...

  14. Hey guys, i am free next week to climb or work the ground, or make cups of tea....dont expect much as im just bored sat around the house waiting to go back to the army to hand all my kit in before i leave. i am in the warwickshire/midlands area if you are interested. cheers

  19. Hey guys, im looking for two weeks work staring the 20th of this month..climbing or ground work, or just making a decent cuppa....im currently in the forces but before i joined i climbed, i have 5 years under my belt up to running my own teams and being a lead climber...have an exstensive cv which can be sent via email on request. i am in the processes of leaving the army so looking for a company to maybe start working for when i have time off and maybe weekends, just to dust of the old ropes and blow the cob webs out, which could hopefully lead to a full time position when i leave the army. cheers for your time.
