  1. Thanks for the thorough explanation! I didn't think it would be easy, so yes I think I will give it a miss unless there is absolutely nothing else it could be. Although I'm hoping husky will sort something out I do want to know what the issue is though. After all, it is just a lump of metal and plastic.
  2. Thanks for all the ideas much appreciated:thumbup1: I think Jonny explained the fuel situation but I was going to mention before I saw his post is that he had a demo saw while we were waiting for the parts to come in from Sweden for a few weeks which was running the same fuel by the same lads with no issues. I understand where the suggestions are coming from as quite often it is the fuel that causes these problems. In regards to a few other questions, no blockage on cooling system, plug condition sorry cant remember, it was a brand new carb and ran well so dont think it was that and checked the exhaust and screen for blockages but all very clean. All I can pin it down to is an ignition fault ie possibly advancing the timing too much but ive never had to check the ignition timing on a two stroke so if anyone wants to point me in the right direction....
  3. I didnt think about looking for a winter kit but I did have the starter cover off so I presume it wasnt there, said he just uses the premixed 2 stroke, didnt think about him adding more 2 stroke to it tbh but will ask. Not the G version.
  4. Yes fully synthetic oil in Aspen2 Joe, as part of being a dealer we have to carry out inspections and repair under warranty if required. We can send the machines off to them for a second opinion or to help with something we can't do which looks like this might be the case this time but its something I dont want to do, as I should be able to sort it out but it just isnt happening. I can understand why they dont just replace machines straight away but it would be handy if they did this time! One thing I forgot to mention was there was more carbon on top of the piston than I would expect from a machine running aspen, thats not from experience of stripping machines that have ran on aspen mind just an opinion in regards to how clean it burns.
  5. Another husky dealer stripped they just wanted to charge him to repair it. If I sent him a new saw I would be out of pocket the cost of a new saw unfortunately.
  6. the 562xp looks a bargain at 199 euro. http://www.damistore.it/husqvarna-562-xp-for-killing-59-8-cc-professional-autotune-7913.html
  7. Having a bit of a nightmare with this one. Aspen2 used from the start. Overheat seize after about 4 months of use, looked like a dodgy transfer cover seal(the saw was already stripped to bits so no chance of a pressure test before hand) so a new piston and cylinder, pressure and vacuum test all fine gave it a good run and thought it was sorted. LAsted about a month I think before it comes back with another heat seize only this time complete. No air leaks so another piston and cylinder this time (very latest version as it was only just before Christmas)with a brand new carb and autotune unit. gave it to one of the lads to try it over a couple of days which went fine so sent it back out. Not a very happy customer calls today after only having the machine for a total of 6 weeks saying the same issue again!! Now, I have never had a saw return that ive replaced the pot and piston on and this could possibly be the third time for the same machine so any ideas what can be causing the issue please? Crank bearings and seals are fine, all fuel pipes checked for leaks, exhaust and spark arrester clear, aspen2 used on other machines with no issues, im lost as to what it can be. All done under warranty but the customer is rightly very peed off.
  8. I checked by business plan and it came up wtih this
  9. I was wondering where you bought that from as it's less than cost price. The prices on the web site are just rrp for now so there will be a discount on those. Although it won't be near the price you paid. TBH I am hoping there is a value in these machines as atm there is none whatsoever in stihl and husky at todays internet prices.
  10. Thanks Geoff, interesting info on the 390, rep said it it's a brilliant machine that will sell well. Simon, yep that's the one, got some on order so I expect them in on Mon-Tue.
  11. Forest tink, there will be a postage charge on top of that unless you spend £60+ vat, thought it best to let you know. Petemate, cheers I will pass the info on. I've never had to tinker with a 576 but iirc there's not an awful lot you can setup!
  12. Would help if the link worked:blushing: Petzl Pantin CATCH- Right
  13. Had a rep in from Lyon yesterday showing us a few nice new Petzl products one of them a catch to stop rope kick out on the pantin. These will be available in Feb-March. I think they are going to be around the £5-6 mark but I will get proper pricing and availability on the web site ASAP. http://www.skylandequipment.com/petzl-pantin-catch-right.html Just retro fit it to your existing pantins but please note it does come in left or right version.
  14. Thanks:thumbup1: Barry only started getting the info on the site today so it will take a few days before we have them all on there(well the ones we are stocking) No small one yet, its on order but no stock until feb sometime, the CS-360TES, CS-390ESX, CS-510sx(i think its that model number) CS-620SX and one of the cheapest ones. Sorry, not up to speed on the model numbers yet in fact it was only this morning that the rep called round to place the order. Will also be stocking the echo two stroke oil and spare parts. Hedge trimmers, blowers etc at a later date.
  15. If it helps there are two exhausts available a European version 544 03 02-01 and a US version 544 03 02-02. US is slightly cheaper but you would be looking around £50 + VAT with a gasket for EU version. Its not something we stock but if you have problems getting hold of one (your local dealer should be able to order one in)give me a shout, we order more or less every day with husky and they have both types in stock by the looks of it. Only info I can see is that EU says 2 chambers and US 1 chamber. Petemate390xp I might know a few people that would be interested in that mod, would they have to send the saw or just the muffler to you, ie is it a porting job aswell
  16. Just a quick post to say we are now an official Echo dealer and will be getting some machine in early next week Only a small selection of saws (helped chosen by yourselves so a big thanks for that) for now that we can build on. Thanks again for the input. Mark
  17. Check that you haven't engaged the chain brake before putting the side casing on. This will cause the brake band to jam between the clutch and the drum causing the issues you have plus it also makes the saw harder to start. Probably the most common problem I have seen with huskys. That's if it isn't one of the ideas already put forward.
  18. As already mentioned that is the transport washer. Looks like your friend has fitted the bar and chain without removing the washer. You can see it has been pressed into the bar. That will be why it has came undone.
  19. Cheers chaps, here is the link. Husqvarna T540XP Cylinder Cover 516 03 46-01 The difference in part numbers is the old one has 01 not 02 at the end. It is a bit of a job as you need to remove fuel tank/handle, carb and intake pipe among other things. Worth checking the impulse pipe and brass fitting that the pipe plugs into while your there, it is the very small pipe next to the intake pipe. I have just checked and only have two in stock but it looks like husky have loads in stock.
  20. Yes it has thicker plastic, also a little strengthening bit and apparently it's a different compound of plastic. As a shameless plug we have them for sale on the web site if you get stuck trying to source one. Just make sure it is the latest part from whoever you buy it from. I will post the part number up later on when I'm back on the pc.
  21. It does look like Echo machines are more popular than a lot of people realise! Charlieh, sounds good, I will have a look at what we can do. Cheers
  22. I'm guessing he means the plastic block that is part of the chain brake mechanism, the knuckle joint bit, it has melted into the brake band spring. If so it's usually down to the saw running higher than idle with the chain brake on.
  23. Thanks again for all the replies and information. I am just giving this a bit of a bump as it is something we will definately be going with in the new year.
  24. I have never had that problem using an extra link as it only moves the guidebar back to where it would be if you put a 7 tooth back on.Always had plenty of adjustment and that was with a 3 foot bar.I did have a mess about opening the exhaust up which probably helps. I would love to use a ported 66 must be a bit of a monster!
  25. The extra oil probably makes a big difference. Not long ago had a 560xp in that the lads used asda oil in for about an hour, seized solid(they were flush cutting stumps at the time) I would be interested to hear from those using stihl red and other cheap brands as to what saws they are using it in. The jump to hp super or husky hp(better than the stihl HP) or low smoke isnt much more of a cost but is a big jump in using a superior product.
