1. Handy Tool that Dan, what model is it? Can I be cheeky and ask what sort of money it s worth? Cdo QUOTE=Daniel Jiggins;1054968]Here's mine but it's not that rough!
2. Cheers chaps! Thats an expense saved!! Much appreciated! Cdo
3. Thanks for the replies, I have seen the 300mm/12 inch rule in front of a stove but that states non combustable, would seem a bit overkill to want another hearth on what is an already non combustable surface AND given that it is a pedestal stove designed to be run with the door closed. Cheers Cdo
4. I would appreciate any advice from stove installers- I want to install a Morso 7648 pedestal stove in my new lounge. The floor will be completely slate flagstones (non-combustable) and the fire box elevated on the pedestal. The stove is designed to be run only with the door closed. Question is do i still need a designated hearth? I have seen some examples with a glass hearth or a slightly raised up 'hearth' in the same material as the floor. I cant find anything in building regs etc, perhaps i'm not looking in the right place. Any advice appreciated!! Cdo
5. +1:thumbup: Check the reviews on the What Stove website
6. I don't think there is any way anyone can say that it's not sexism; however should it be censored or removed.. absolutely not. If people find it offensive... don't look at it and if it really offends... don't buy the product!
7. Has anyone heard of 'The Royal Marine Diet', have a look on the web. It appears to be a quick 7 day fix to lose a stone, is this ketosis at work? Comments appreciated (Don't know why it has that name as I don't know any former RM that has heard of it!! Cheers Cdo
8. No neighbours....get on and build it, any probs go for retrospective planning.

Just bought an iPad Air....Wow!! Depends what you want to spend, TBH the iPad 2 is still a cracking bit of kit. Cdo
10. Treehugger I have a 1.5m INO flail on y blades on my 50hp Alpine, its a cracking combination and deals with some pretty thick stuff on steep ground, dont think id go much bigger mind as it takes some running & anything heavier might upset the balance. Speak to Jim at Riko, he gives good advice!! Cdo.
11. WTF do you mean by that? In the military it's usually the ones doing all the gobbin off and whinging that don't do any work!!
12. Interesting comments here- Climbing Rope Wear and Degradation seems no damage even when soaked overnight! Might be prudent to wash the rope in a mild detergent and rinse/dry (naturally) well.
13. I recently bought a Honda Petrol water pump back from the Gulf. The Honda showroom issued me with a certificate to say it was free from fuel and lubricants (they said this was a common form/Doc). To be honest I wasn't asked for it (at Gulf end or Heathrow) anyway. I then had it wrapped at the airport with the industrial clingfilm you can pay for. At the UK end.....Customs? You are having a laugh, never there!! Well worth taking the chance!! Top Tip- Vent the saw for as long as you can before you pack it! You dont want it smelling of petrol!!
14. I bought a pair of Laser Pig Ring Pliers a while back and cannot for the life of me remember how to refill the staples:confused1:!! Typically didn't read the instructions so no RTFM comments please! Many Thanks Cdo
15. Anyone have any suggestions on how to overcome the two hand operation on a WX540 without serious mod/welding etc? Pain in the Ar*e! I remember seeing a post where someone had a simple method of making it one handed operation? I don't lend it or let anyone else use it so surely not an issue? Thanks Cdo.
16. There is some good info on the Horse & Hound forum about this, plenty horsey types looking for lighting for stables etc.
17. Diplomacy first...Then big violence!! Nice one Kev:thumbup1:

Si, the Courts Martial has made its decision, he has been found guilty of murder! I haven't seen any posts yet that are being 'too quick to judge'. All the facts concerning their mental state, workload, etc etc will have been submitted by his defence team (or you would hope so). BUT at the end of the day it would APPEAR that this SNCO made a foolish error of judgement in what he did and more foolishly not destroying the video and certainly not recording the incident in a diary!! Personally I couldn't give a s**t for the insurgent but this incident will cause the military and UKPLC serious issues. Lets hope his appeal claims PTSD and he gets a light sentence! OARMAARM!! Cdo Out
20. Hi Kev. I think the issue here is one of disrespect more than a safety issue. No.6 shot raining down has very little velocity or weight so the chance of injury will be extremely small (unless you were looking directly up vertically) no more dangerous than hailstones I would think. I would suggest that you have another 'friendly' word with the Shoot Captain and ask him to make best attempts to prevent the shot from falling on your land. Also that he informs you prior to any shooting days so that you can ensure the safety of daughter etc. Inform him that you don't want to get the Police involved at this stage. It just isn't worth falling out with neighbours!! As for the comment 'Backstop, Backstop, Backstop', think other poster may be getting his rifle mixed up with a shotgun!

Jesse the issue with this incident it that the 'heat of battle' had ended...this was a calculated act. We are not the Taliban/AQ, we live by a moral code. We are trained to be able to 'Switch the aggression on and switch it off' as the situation requires. I am not going to sit here and judge what happened, BUT how stupid to- a. Have filmed it. b. Not deleted it. c. Written it all down in your diary. I fully agree with Gen. Thompson R.M. he should get a 5yr sentence and no more. Glad the other lads got acquitted!
22. I'm thinking of adding Solar Thermal to my existing Thermal Store (its set up ready). I'm running on oil and a log burner, both feeding the store at the mo. Is solar thermal really that good/efficient? Worth the extra expense (I have a south facing roof and am in West Devon)? Have had all the facts from installers but they also told me the GSHP 1:4 figures!
23. Hi Ty I have the Elite L 160 on a AGT850. It is a great tool but definitely doesn't cut as fine/close as a rotary topper. However as an 'all round' option I have found it handles everything (brambles, rushes and bracken) very well and is stable on slopes. I have tried the sheep option on our steep orchard but if the grass gets away from you ie clumpy, then they wont eat it down. I have an 8ft spring tine harrow that I use to rake up, this does a pretty tidy job with the added harrowing benefits.
