  1. If you want quality over quantity that sounds like a good choice.
  2. Ah yes that makes sense.
  3. I got the Halfords set on offer. Not sure I would call it decent but it is a hell of a lot of pieces for the money.
  4. Sounds at the top end but not unusual. Why 5% VAT?
  5. Just commenting today that almost everything is coming at the same time. Ash, oak beech hornbeam and oak within 3 days. Last year the ash was last by an age. Just looking out the window and I can add hawthorn, birch and sycamore to that list. Incredible realy everything in our hedgrow has sprung to life in just a few days and it's glorious
  6. Think some part of the UK gets a storm most years. We don't all live in the south and east
  7. Pretty serious sawmill Hull-Oakes Sawmill | THISisCarpentry And it in action [ame] [/ame]
  8. Yep all chip blown down into the neighbor's field. Do you think I should charge them for the "forest bark"
  9. It's horrible out in the yard. Clouds of dust. Did a bit of processing this morning and all the chip is now gone!
  10. Sunny and very WINDY.
  11. Done a few on the farm. Most come back.
  12. Not sure but from what I have read on here they come loose when dry anyway. Just thought with a gripple you could retighten mid season if needed. When their all done just cut the wire next to the gripple and as there is spare wire it can be reused. Not saying it will work just an idea.
  13. Was considering having a go at bundling billets. I know Difflock looked at various options for strapping. I was wondering about using gripples and wire. If the wire was left over length you could just cut off close to the gripple, pull through the offcut and reuse the wire and gripple next year. Thoughts?
  14. Thanks for that Jim. Seem to have her running well ATM so will pass this time. If have time you would be very welcome for coffee or a meal.
  15. Think what you like mate. I have changed my "glasses" a few times over the years. ATM It's still fresh in the mind the mess the last Labour government left. Wish I had kept off this thread. Politics is so divisive I normally keep my trap shut on the subject. Hornbeam anyone?
  16. Changing the running of a monster like the NHS is like turning a supertanker, very very slow. I don't like how it is now but what the hell was the government to supposed to do? Plow in loads more money that we don't have? They have to struggle through until this country gets it's head above water and then bolster the NHS coffers. You can't spend what we don't have.
  17. Think so. Agency staff don't seem to show the commitment and often don't show leaving the ward under staffed.
  18. I think you are right there. Spoken to a few long term staff there and they thought it was a better place under a conservative government. Less box ticking and more common sense. Lets face it the NHS will never have enough money. There is always some great new treatment to add to the vast range they already have. It all adds to the cost. Be nice if they could have the recommended staff to patient ratios though.
  19. And mine Richie. Sad that they have such a hard time on a regular basis. I have to remind Liz of the few good days she has had. Not sure how long she will be able to hack it if things in Derriford don't improve.
  20. As above. Not used one but Metabo kit is normally top notch. What are you cutting up with it Jon?
  21. Surely it's the fact that many people want to be doctors and nurses. If no one did the pay would go up to entice people in and vice versa. Think all employers pay as little as they can to get the staff the want, it's not complicated. My wife is a nurse and works ungodly hours for average pay but it's what she want's to do.
  22. I am going for Many Clouds to win. When is it on?
  23. Saw our first yesterday. Probably the earliest we have had them here. Fantastic little birds. Always enjoy watching them swoop down to get water from the pond.
  24. Never tried it but how about something like this [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acorn-5210A-Wildlife-Standard-Infrared/dp/B00873DB5S]Acorn 5210A Wildlife Trail Camera, Standard Infrared: Amazon.co.uk: Garden & Outdoors@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41bXjQcbz8L.@@AMEPARAM@@41bXjQcbz8L[/ame] Would be pretty hard for them to deny it if you have photographic evidence.
