  1. Sounds like PEG which was briefly popular many moons ago but fell out of favour but not sure why. Never used either though Might help Stabilising green wood (peg) | UKworkshop.co.uk WWW.UKWORKSHOP.CO.UK I was on pinterest the other day and saw a topic about stabilising log slices with 'peg'- polyethylene glycol. I was...
  2. That would tie in with this
  3. Every small local log seller I know is not bothering. I wasn't so anti at the idea but the reality is a farce. Pretty sure someone on here got asked to just send in a log for sampling. How ridiculous is that? Hmmm I might just pop it in the oven for a few hours just to be on the safe side 😂
  4. Hi John I have ended up throwing my toys at the pram and just taking customers who will take 2+ cubic meter loads. Started ringing around the nice 1m3 customers and all of them have said they can take 2m3 loads. Dont mind losing the PITA small load customers as we could sell our logs twice over anyway. That will teach Woodsure for not answering the phone and not calling back 😂
  5. A cube of logs will lose around 150 litres of water through drying. I doubt any dehumidifier is going to get close to removing the amount of water needed to dry your logs in the time spans you are hoping for
  6. You might be right about the first bit but run everything here on E10 without bother
  7. Might be of interest Drive On Wood! FORUM.DRIVEONWOOD.COM Woodgas Power.
  8. Sorry struggling with a working link but looks like OPEC are going to increase oil production
  9. Grudgingly filling in the Woodsure forms and just come across a few bits I dont like the sound of (clearly dont like most of it but these bits are worse) Cant get hold of them on the phone so thought others might know What are point of sale fees? Please note: Point of sale fees will be invoiced separately annually once your application has been approved and an audit plan provided, if applicable. " Also what might these add up to baring in mind we are down on the Devon Cornwall boarder. "Note: Additional fees may be added to cover travelling expenses."
  10. Both the ones I have had came from Welmac but they have stopped selling the cheap Remet machines but you can still buy them from here and I think and Ebay Red Dragon Professional Archives - WoodProcessor24 WWW.WOODPROCESSOR24.CO.UK ARPAL Branch Loggers For Sale - Welmac UK WELMACUK.CO.UK The Arpal Branch logger range is unique in offering a 3-year warranty, giving peace of mind and confidence in the product...
  11. If Scotland gained independence would it not also seek to rejoin the EU? Bet the EU would welcome them with open arms and then Scotland would become an attractive option for many firms currently south of the border
  12. Thanks John. Wasn't aware there was new similar group. I see lots of the old gang are on there
  13. I guess the forum didn't lead to many sales as it had become pretty diverse. Probably not cheap to run either as there was so much data to store. Mr B could probably enlighten us on what it costs to have info just sitting there. Green Building Forum is still going and may not be as diverse but its still a mine of information on there from some pretty clever folk
  14. Navitron came under new management. They closed the forum and deleted everything. A great resource gone
  15. Not sure we are the least corrupt any more. I honestly think we have some of the worst governance in my lifetime and I say that as someone who has several times voted for the conservatives but this lot seem to be a different breed who have no honestly, no honour or integrity.
  16. All very odd. Thought I heard them say they were going hard and fast against the Oligarchs Budget cuts leave corruption investigators ‘massively outgunned’ by oligarchs WWW.THETIMES.CO.UK The government has cut the budget of the anti-corruption unit tasked with investigating dirty Russian money in...
  17. I am not the one on an Arb forum holding fourth about incredibly complicated international affairs
  18. Out of interest after 9-11 did you think the US had that coming having 'poked the middle east' ?
  19. Is 150C cold for the top of a stove? Looks like a flue thermometer. Our flue (where single skin) gets hotter than the stove top and yours is still within correct temp.
  20. Looks the same but a rather different price!
  21. Those sharpeners or similar have been around for some time. There was a thread on here some years back about them and hopefully someone might find it. All I can remember is that you cant do any back angle if the chain needed it and the HSS 'file' didn't last that long and were not cheap. Think there were brittle as well
  22. It would be funny if it wasn't true!
  23. Lots started to sprout but then failed after after a few weeks. It was a long cold spring and we may have put them outside too early. Will have another go now as hopefully it's not too late.
  24. Ooops forgot about this thread. Sad to say every single one died
  25. Lidl which was undoubtedly PRC but £20. It's done me really well and been amazing value for money
