  8. Also takes you out of the circle , so that if the stem your on barber chairs your body wont be crushed up against the pole. treemotion has lower d's and i pretty much use them for everything
  9. have a lil krab on your leg loop or harness and when you get to the stem just clip the tail of your rope through and it will keep it away from your spikes .
  10. Hope you left a massive messy pile of brash for him to toil over . He was probably only joking but a rude comment none the less Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. very cool bro
  12. pull it out when its starting to move mate , because you are cutting in limb that is going over, when your chain stops sometimes it makes a little grove that your saw can get stuck in , dont worry about it and just make sure you take your saw out of the cut before it goes over or if your chasing a hinge (forward leaning limb etc) dont let chain run down and take it out sharply. I have heard of guys doing chopper jobs and finishing the step cut on the wrong side and getting the saw ripped out of there hands.
  13. really good money in auz , the living costs are quite expensive also , i have a buddy over there on just over $30aus per hour. Germany is really good for living costs, food and nearly everything is cheaper here then nz bar gas but public transport is lightyears ahead and you can get away with not having a car
  14. set up a system with a few pulleys with an anchor tied in tree down to a pulley on their harness then back up to another pulley in the tree then back down to a base anchor with a gri gri or something similar , great idea mate
  15. I dont think many people intend on a barber chair when they are cutting out big tops
  16. I was browsing through a few sites and came across this. It looks promising Has anyone tried it out as a friction cord ? http://www.liros.com/fileadmin/user_upload/dateien/Service/Downloads/Prospekte/LIROS_xtreme_1_1.pdf second rope in the catalog:thumbup:

  20. what gaffs do you have on the geckos ?. lean back on your lanyard , dont be to close to the pole and before you cut make sure you kick in nice and hard and also dont take big steps up the trunk , just small ones. just keep at it and everything will get better as you get more comfortable with spiking
  21. Bet he slept well that night
  22. very good spikes mate , money would be well spent
  23. green on the tree motion is life support and red is not so side ds are for life-support and so are the lower ds
