  1. couldn't have put it better myself. I think its important to understand all the forces and possible scenarios that can happen with different equipment and work to those specs .
  2. Yeah I know what you mean mate but I'm getting a snake anchor for a shock absorber and with something in there I think (correct me if I'm wrong ) that absorbs fall force you can use them in a work situation . Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  4. sounds good bro but its hard enough trying to get some for hitch over here in big G let alone a roll of it. id have to get it sent over from nz . anyone tried this bad boy Freeworker - Torpedo 10 mm Dyneema Rope - climb up high!
  5. sweet bro cheers, i was looking at that on sherill it looksreal nice. but i might try sort out something more local.
  6. Alrighty guys , looking into a new access line. I am now almost exclusively using srt for access (unless its a perfect foot lock) and my elderid power static is just to bouncy , so i was wondering what everyone uses for tree entry. Just to restate it is for entry only and not for work positioning. Cheers guys, Jesse.
  7. turn the hc around 180 so the last braid is on the pulley side of the hc and see if that makes a difference , hope that makes sense:confused1: it could just be new cord also ?
  8. Big money in freelancing bro , shouldn't have to much trouble finding a job . I would recommend starting to learn the language but you can get by without . I'm struggling along with it at the moment but I'm going to be here for a while so it's necessary. This time of year it's basically pruning bracing etc felling starts in winter . Pm for any questions Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  14. i think its possible if you have adequate experience as one of the lads at work jumped straight into it but just the time thing is an issue for me. thanks for the info though judge:thumbup1:.
  15. I was wondering if anyone here has done the test , ideally i would like to do the tree technician but just dont have the compulsory 4 months to spare and enough understanding of the german language. i had a look at the criteria and i think i can get away without doing the course and jump straight into the test paper. it looks pretty basic but over here its all about papers and quals and the test i can sit in english. any ideas or info would be appreciated guys.
  16. you still have it clipped to your harness , you just clip onto your d or hitch climber when its not in use and therefore the rope takes the weight.

Nice one reg , how do your ropes and Prussic find that constant supply of sap ? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. never climbed in c's before but the new arborist from pfanner would be lightyears ahead in terms of breathability and weight reduction . I'm in the gladiators (last years model) bit harder wearing but if your climbing and dont do forestry or bramble bashing, i'd say the arborists would be best
  19. learn how to use a throw line ? haha if that fails just chuck your rope over the branches and haul ya way up ddrt mate, no point in fluffing around with that system , sounds tedious. personally i would set a line up top and srt it and if i needed to climb higher then my ascent line just ddrt it from there
  20. what if you base tie? i think its easier to clip your pre tied system straight onto your harness and simply install your c saver then put rope through and hey presto working system. hanging on your lanyard fiddling round , uniting knots and potentially dropping the rope doesn't sound very economical to me. you can just leave all the gear on the line or send it down the rope to your groundie
  21. Freeworker - Connectors, Carabiner, Snaps, Links, Swivel, Rings - climb up high! Freeworker - Connectors, Carabiner, Snaps, Links, Swivel, Rings - climb up high!
  22. bore in through the centre of the gob mate and use a powerful saw to chase the hinge .
  23. mate get a croll and a bit of elastic. have a lifeline connection between the top ascender and you (can be long as it is just a back up ). tight elastic loop over your neck and attached to the top of the croll .... don't fluff around with hitches . [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HA7p4V8yDvg]Frog walker, with croll - YouTube[/ame] I have my life line connection a lot longer then his as its less restricting.
