  1. don't forget folks a house 6m to the right!
  2. as said not a great tree for a crown reduction - when you get a decent example - get a good groundsman who can guide you on shape, when you are in the tree
  3. it should be ok but for anchor points choose twice the thickness as normal
  4. they are difficult when that big and wide -looks good
  5. a mcculloch:elefant:
  6. its usually bad bout this time of year - good luck - you live in my favourite part of the country
  7. nr delamere forest? - not too far from me - don't recall the tree though
  8. 50+ hrs now depends if im working weekend 10 yrs ago I was earning the same money then, as I am now and in just 3 days!! - how times have changed
  9. two problems I can see - first the flooding issue -established trees don't react well to sudden changes to soil moisture levels that remain continuous - be it dry to wet or wet to dry. I think high concentration of the chemicals /elements in the waste water is a big issue too.
  10. that's classic ash dieback - fell them all grind the stumps out and soil sterilise to a distance equal to that of the drip line:thumbup:
  11. I sanded ours then applied some type of varnish/ oil - looks great:thumbup1:
  12. if I can sum it up in one sentence, anchorage is available on the other side - the roots adapt to it - though I would judge each situation by its own merits -
  13. thanks for the comments guys - a bowl it will be - Im not going to do it myself - I dont want to mess it up - I will find someone - how much should I pay?
  14. Did a job on Sat - client wanted the timber but not the burr - shame to waste it - but what to do with it now
  15. I always insist on a wind free day too
