  1. Ok I spoke to my friend who works for N.England - and he says with regards to trees, there is no legislation specifically covering the above.
  2. ive dabbled with other jobs but in conclusion, Im a tree man through and through
  3. I was introduced to it when I did an NCH at collage in the mid eighties - loved the climbing - then I worked for the Council doing trees in the winter and grass cutting in summer - soon discovered there was good money to be had too - I made it my hobby and my job full time in 1990
  4. I did some work on an Oak a few yrs ago - never seen shake so bad - it wqs on sandy soil which I suspect was the cause

  11. many yrs ago I had a rookie working for me - suplied him with PPE - to the point, he hit his leg that hard with the chainsaw, it brused it!!! - chainsaw trousers stiched up ok afterwards
  12. with re -pollarding the most important thing is to NOT cut past the old pollard cuts

  14. what historically hve you got nearby - glastonbury? any battles whats your local celtic tribe- durotriges? dobunni? here is a sivler stater of the durotriges - look nice carved one side represents stylized head of apollo (left) and the other stylized horse
  15. you are ok starting the chainsaw left handed -(pull cord left hand) but thats all
