  1. There are those that ‘believe’ what theym being told Egger..... ?
  2. Apparently, this nonsense only applies to the plebs: Bars in Parliament do not have to follow the 10pm curfew - Wales Online WWW.WALESONLINE.CO.UK They are instead counted as a "workplace canteen" Any MP, of any flavour, that is chugging tax payer subsidised bevvy after 22:00 is laughing in our faces!
  3. That’s an (unusually) odd response Mark. I mean, even more odd than usual....? Take the ‘subject matter’ out of the 2 example protests and look again: Similarities - some attempts at social distancing and compliance with current guidelines, both examples ‘authorised’ public protests, both examples could be perceived as ill advised large public gatherings under the circumstances. Glaringly obvious dissimilarities - 1 example raised outrage (from certain 1/4s) if police DIDN’T kneel in deference, the other example resulted in a baton charge. 1 example received boggling levels of media coverage, the other not so much. Is the chasm between the 2 roughly similar sets of circumstances not blindingly obvious? What is also noteworthy, is that both examples of protest groups appeared to have a reasonably broad demographic of attendees - so far as I could see. The anti lockdown faction is most likely to be ‘working’ types that have so much to lose from these apparently illogical restrictions. I’m a bit surprised (not really) that there isn’t a Labour voice in there. Maybe it’s just the usual Marxist factions that are omni-present at such events? If only there was an effective opposition able to offer checks and balances to Tory cabinet rule....
  4. Sounds like St Budeaux (in Plymuff.) The Janners don’t like an early start though - the Subaru Spar shop super strength lager run starts right after the Jeremy Kyle show. Invariably followed Shortly thereafter by the sirens.....
  5. I rarely disagree wi him - except on Brexit of course ?
  6. That’s another little chip gone from the bastion of straight talkers..... The legendary Mountain Man using the term ‘whataboutery’ rather than embracing the dynamic cut & thrust of argument, counter argument. It’s a dark day for AT. I’m going to push my red wine consumption into overdrive so as to cast a veil over the realisation that the world is changing in ways I’m increasingly uncomfortable with on an, apparently, daily basis. ?
  7. Listening to Majeed on LBC earlier. He’s had the measure of this situation from the get-go. He’s a good boy - been broadcasting to the masses ‘on message’ since I spoke to him back in March. We’re on track for North of 7% unemployment on current measure for the sake of (I think he said) 1000 Covid hospital cases as of today. UK population 68ish mil?? Do the math - 1000 as a percentage of 68 mil. 7% unemployment is a shit sandwich that all 68 mil will have to take a bite of.
  8. That’s easily answered.... Because their bosses and their political masters are shite scared of opening Pandora’s box.
  9. J’s more “Tory” that he likes to admit..... ????
  10. I get hay fever in the Summer so I choose quite carefully where I go and what I do - I take precautions for myself but I don't expect anyone that doesn't suffer to follow my lead. (granted, its a bit different with a virus but it's as close as I could get with the time available to think about it.) If an individual feels vulnerable they should take their OWN precautions rather than subjecting the entire nation to nugatory, seemingly made up on the hoof, contradictory, illogical and extremely damaging broad brush policies. So to answer the question.... If that's what they want to do, that's what they should do. Juvenile and unworthy of a meaningful response
  11. Listening to wireless commentary it is reported that arresting personnel were 2x female ‘specials’ (seems odd though, wouldn’t expect to see a special without a regular constable) and that the perp needed to be extracted quickly to avoid wider disorder from a gathered crowd. You can just imagine the BLM fuelled lawlessness and disorder that would naturally follow an ‘innocent’ black youth being unfairly subjected to stop and search as a consequence of Met Police systemic racism. Never mind the horrible little scrote had a shooter down his pants.
  12. There is STILL no alternative egger. Im actually becoming ‘more’ belligerent, anti establishment as one farce follows another..,
  13. I’ll meet you in the middle for part of that... The part that discusses the probable beneficial effect of some previous preventative and preparatory measures. Id highlight some of the glaringly obvious omissions from those ‘common sense’ early prep’s though - like failure to shut down international flights etc. Much of the main thrust of the post [my interpretation - get with the program, do as your told, don’t question the system] is not so agreeable I’m afraid. BigJ has already extrapolated many of the reasons for that above. Here we are NOW, 7 months down the road and much better able to examine facts, figures and theories against hypothesis. I find myself able to agree again with your closing statement - wake up to reality - but, I suspect our versions / interpretations of that ‘reality’ may differ somewhat.
  14. That is ‘100% operator error.’ Not kit, not system, not process. Outcome - an injury (thankfully not serious) but doubtless to be interpreted (by some) as additional justification for MEWP or more restrictive practices. An anchor the diameter of a fat bird’s chubby finger.... I wouldn’t bet MY life on it.
