  1. ? you’re boring me. Follow yr own advice and get yourself onto an Arb related thread where you might have something to contribute that’s worth reading.
  2. I’m starting to see a sense of humour ?
  3. Help us all out then, start a poll with a brief, (no, really) statement of your position and see what degree of agreement (or otherwise) there is. Or, get yourself over to a Arb related thread and make some valuable contribution rather than repeating the same old guff on this thread then whining like short changed whore when people express their disagreement with your opinion.
  4. Bugger...... Im off to iron my black shirt ?
  5. Who got booted out for being too right wing? If someone got the elbow for being too outspoken and it wasn’t me I want names! ? Note to self, must try harder! Not hard Left Mark? You were a big fan of Corbyn though weren’t you? It could (quite easily I think) be argued that Corbyn was actually too hard Left for Labour - certainly the electorate. These are funny tags aren’t they - hard left / hard right etc. Some of my views are further ‘right’ than Tory, some pretty centre Left and even some extreme Green. No f*cking Lib Dem in this rainbow though ?
  6. Are you currently registered as self employed in tandem with your PAYE status? If not, worth considering for tax efficiency. . If you are registered SE, advertising, available and able to deliver services then its likely you would be classified as trading. A job comes up, you do it and issue an invoice then you are certainly trading. Now, expenses incurred in the process of setting up and delivering your SE trade are potentially tax deductible against the income from PAYE. For (a very simple) example: PAYE earning <40k has a 20% income tax liability (excluding personal allowance) SE income is also taxable but eligible expenses incurred in the set up and operation of SE are tax deductible. Setting up, vehicle, some training, equipment, machinery, IT, phone, home office blah, blah, blah.... all potential tax deductions - especially in the early days when costs tend to exceed income - there is considerable potential tax efficiency to registering SE whilst still employed.
  7. I see what your problem is brother.... Its 2020. In 2020 it’s simply ‘not enough’ to be a decent, rounded, balanced and experienced person that takes anyone they meet at face value (until proven otherwise.) In 2020 passive ‘decent humanity’ is just not enough - unless you are a rabid, foam at the mouth, Antifa, BLM, gay pride activist you simply ain’t trying hard enough and you might as well rename yourself Alf Garnet. It’s the modern day self flagellation most favoured by the Tarquin’s & Jermima’s who are overwhelmed with guilt from the capitalist gains of their parents generation. The irony of course, is that the more we see of this overt activism / often lawlessness, the closer it brings us towards anarchy - still the underlying objective of many of the hard core elements that exist within these groups. Ironic because that same anarchy would result in such circumstances that would likely be most unpalatable to the whiniest bar stewards.
  8. Is it freedom of opinion and speech in general than you rail against or is it just opinions that differ from your own that you find so difficult to digest?
  9. FFS, it’s like trying to get a straight answer to a simple question from a LA (or Boris) I bet you’re a throbber on a night out.
  10. I wonder how young youndstu actually is.... Writes like straight out of school still full of the PC BS that passes for education these days. Go on Stu, tell us you’re a knarly 80yo globe trotting adventurer with a vast and far ranging portfolio of life experiences as a foundation for your opinion. (are you old enough to recognise your chain being yanked?)
  11. I think you might have been a tad unfair on JD there. Happy to be corrected, but I think it was me, rather that JD, that used the term drivel. Whilst I used the term to describe your offerings - you REALLY are now taking it to extremes of drbbling drivel.
  12. Whaddaya mean “if?” Of course it’s correct or I wouldna said it would I!
  13. The minority should be over represented according to your own logic - or do you choose to apply it selectively? Is the hypocrisy starting to dawn on you yet?
  14. Shocker.... A difference of opinion is not something that should be suppressed, it should be explored. Like BLM for example? They don't matter any more (or any less) than anyone else. That's pretty much where I am - equally, without fear or favour based upon the character rather than the colour. Quite, so everyone needs to get over it and stop crying. What sort of drivel is that? Is there even a question in there? The article I posted reveals that there is an unequal, over representation of notable minority sectors in society and that should - by your own apparent logic - be recognised and rectified. We can at least agree on that.... Can we also agree that the potential 'solutions' should actually be irrespective of, rather than governed by, association to any particular identifiable group? I think you might have missed the point as you took a running jump for the bandwagon.... The report identifies an unjustifiable over representation of 'group(s)' within the broader society. That is unjustifiably discriminatory - go figure ?
  15. I would contend that it is a problem, yes, since it is an deliberate misrepresentation of reality based upon a social ideology propagated by unregulated political agenda. I prefer the words of Martin Luther King Jr: "...I look to a day when people will not be judged by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character..." By your own logic then, where BAME are at or above the majority, it there should be a dominance of non BAME representation in the media - you see how your own logic starts to fall apart? See above... I'd suggest "artificially" raising the profile of any minority group simply on the basis that they cling to a minority group identity is inappropriate. It results in the promotion beyond capability / suitability of candidates that may not be the best equipped for any particular role simply on the basis of their ethnicity - the antithesis of MLK's 'dream.' To the exclusion of others? Mmm. Are you subscribing to racial / ethnic stereotypes? Are you a LA employee Stu? Your post looks like it could have come straight out of a woke corporate HR manual....
  16. ? The sort of question you never want to be asked, but would never decline. Id just felled a large tree when my mates dad asked if he could “have a quick word” How unprepared was I for the question that followed..... Would I carry the coffin he expected to be in within a couple of weeks. Totally floored me. Think of it as an immeasurable honour and privilege to have been thought so highly of to have been asked.
  17. Interesting..... It seems to have become even more prevalent of late. Over the last couple of days I’d actually started watching TV ads - not out of interest in the products - but rather to assess ‘diversity’ of representation. Try it and see what conclusions you draw. There is a noticeable imbalance when comparing BAME representation in TV advertising to that which I see all around me. On the one hand, it is apparent that it is very rare to see a TV advert WITHOUT BAME representation, but my lived experience is that I could literally go weeks / months without actually seeing any. If Breitbart is unpalatable, it’s also in the Times and featured on BBC Politics Live - just for balance. The figures are clear enough, there is an OVER representation of certain groups in relation to national demographic. Study: Gays, Ethnic Minorities Hugely Overrepresented in UK Television WWW.BREITBART.COM A survey of the TV industry found that, contrary to popular belief among "woke" commentators, gays and minorities are...
  18. Same way you’d approach any blatantly illogical nonsense?
  19. Not sure how you’ve done that ? You’ve assigned Rob’s words as a quote by me? ?
  20. It’s a classic, perhaps well intentioned but blatantly poorly considered, sadly typical, public sector over reaction which seeks to impose restrictions without full and considered appreciation of the implications. Logic would dictate that if 1 child is confirmed, the ‘bubble’ should isolate until tested, test results positive equals full isolation schedule, test result negative equals back to school. 48-72 hrs whilst awaiting test results not 2 weeks lost education and family disruption.
  21. Doesn’t matter! Got a template that was filled in 37 months ago - ergo - INDESTRUCTIBLE ??
  22. And therein lies the greatest weakness of tick-box mentality - seeking out and blindly following a generic ‘template’ in the misguided belief that it provides some form of compliance / protection / good practice rather than actually, properly assessing the task specific hazards, and taking measures to mitigate them, is a journey in the fast lane to nugatory effort.
