  1. Can we save them for LD3? Something to look forward to lioke ?
  2. Your definition of ‘balance’ disturbs me K ? You found a one off example akin to a punch up at a family wedding - everyone is welcome and invited but you can be sure a Scottish uncle will take a drop too much and start a rumble. It’s not quite the same. Al-Aqsa Mosque is like The Pegasus in Aldershot - if you ain’t ‘in’ you ain’t coming in!
  3. I listened with interest to the first female Imam on t' wireless t'other night. A female Imam ? and openly bisexual to boot ?she has a mosque in Berlin and wants to establish one in the UK.... What would be the odds on her premature departure from this mortal coil? Head 'accidentally' severed from her body in a freak shaving accident? Buried under a couple of ton of 803? Mysteriously falls from high building? Freak gas explosion?
  4. I find it matters less who writes it (so long as you know their potential agenda) than what it is that is written. Last time I visited Jerusalem the only barrier to visiting the Church of the Holy Sepulchre was the crowds. Not so with the Al-Aqsa Mosque, it was the oppressive, armed guards and tangible resentment from people of the "peace loving faith" that presented both the physical and psychological barriers to entry... In this reportage, it seems that those barriers are being extended beyond the infidel to include those (possibly more moderate) members of the Muslim faith that have the temerity to acknowledge the right of the State of Israel to exist. The PLO - making friends through the generations....
  5. Pants down, legs spread, negat lube! They are pretty savage given a sniff of irregularity.... Former BHS owner jailed for six years for tax evasion WWW.BBC.CO.UK A court heard Dominic Chappell spent the money that was owed on two yachts and a luxury holiday.
  6. Muslims: Al-Aqsa Mosque Does Not Belong to Palestinians WWW.GATESTONEINSTITUTE.ORG These Gulf Muslims are also demanding an end to the Palestinian "monopoly" over the Islamic holy site in... And yet people still cling to their student union, sandal wearing, hippy notions of an oppressed Palestine... Beggars belief really.
  7. The ‘likes’ and ‘laughs” for that one reads life a membership list of the 50 and above thread ?
  8. Crikes Sam, you’ve potentially opened a can of worms with that one ? Stubby’s building up a head of steam as we speak ???
  9. There’s a song about that ?
  10. Educate, educate, educate! Highlight to the school and provide a basic info brief - a fantastic education opportunity. That would be in an ideal world at least. What will probably happen is there will be a hysterical (albeit futile) attempt to remove and eradicate the ‘offending’ article. Reminds me of the hysterics that followed when a child was ‘suspected’ to have eaten deadly nightshade. Tell & show children what is dangerous rather than constantly trying to remove the potential hazard.
  11. It’s been around a while, but it’s genuinely brilliant:
  12. And to keep the current theme:
  13. It’s Sunday mate, you can’t be held accountable for stuff said on a Sunday ?
  14. Awwww, come on Mark, what were you gonna say....?
  15. There is also the potential for a 'name & shame' approach. The council, especially as a government / statutory body, ought to strive towards the gold standard in the duty to be a good neighbour. It certainly looks like, either through omission, ignorance or neglect, that the council tree has the potential to be adversely impacting the neighbour. First job - tell them! Rather than offering (and then standing under the council's direction) to remedy the perceived imposition and incurring the financial penalty, first action could be to explain what the imposition is and suggest that the council might wish to address it. If they were to decline, there is the parish & district councillor route + the local MP who could be brought to bear - they work for us after all. Then there is social media and local media. Create a shit-storm if necessary - it can have surprising effect. Best case scenario - problem resolved, no personal cost. Winner, winner Waitrose organic chicken and pan roasted pine nut dinner. Worst case scenario - TPO. Somewhere in the middle - council claim to be skint and won't do it, neighbour has to do it. Personally, I'd still do the caravan and campfire approach....
  16. I aim to bring a workable alternative to conventional wisdom..... ?
  17. Yes, I know.... I was being obscure... If there is no such thing as 'public money' there can be no such thing as 'publicly owned property' - well, obviously, technically, there can be. But only for as long as 'we - the masses' remain compliant with the 'rules' that suppress us. Suppress / protect is open to personal interpretation obviously... For as long as people seek permission / consent there will always be those that (sometimes inappropriately or excessively) attempt to exert their dominant influence. The solution here is to use the selective liberal permissiveness that pervades most public sector organisations to one's advantage. Park a caravan in the RPA, tether a pony to the tree, harvest the overhanging branches for the provision of basic human rights such as cooking and hot water. Result - immediate grant of 14 days 'camping rights', a camp fire and jolly with the boys drinking beer and toasting muffins, tree problem resolved, leave a load of shite for LA to clean up and finally, the cherry on top, the LA gets a good PR story to boost their diversity and inclusivity stats... Everyone's a winner! PS you might be better off following Jules' advice above (correction - it's NOT 'advice' it is the casual contribution to a hypothetical scenario being discussed informally and without liability), but, if, entirely at your own discretion, you follow my suggestion.... Make sure the camp fire is adjacent / at the base of the tree. Then phone LA and tell them THEIR tree is unsafe. Slam dunk in ya face LA!
  18. Come on you idle slackers! Where’s your sense of adventure, your indomitable spirit, your rebellious indignation? The ‘scenario’ - keep the tree v prune the tree v fell the tree - you’re getting bogged down in supplementary questions and ignoring the glaringly obvious..... There is NO SUCH THING AS COUNCIL OWNED LAND! (yes I am looking at you K ???)
  19. He didn't stand a chance..... ???
  20. I want to see YOUR version of carefully selected 20 questions ?
  21. 2 1 actually - forgot the broken little toe I got from kicking a 16yo girl! In my defence, it was consensual and she was a black belt ? No tattoos on this perfect skin ?
  22. Who needs reminding of that?
  23. Labour suspends Jeremy Corbyn over reaction to anti-Semitism report Labour suspends Jeremy Corbyn over reaction to anti-Semitism report WWW.BBC.CO.UK Sir Keir Starmer acts after his predecessor says the scale of the problem in Labour is "overstated". ??
  24. Where do you find 'em.... (well, BBC online obv's but you know what I mean...) Not sure if it'd have been worse for Lt Femoral or Lt Bolok....?
  25. ? There is a limit to my personal reflection...
