  1. May be worth checking heights above ground level if it's public / visible. >300mm may require building regs sign off.
  2. Is that the one with the jam on top?
  3. They're simple, slow, a bit awkward and rarely seen outside the Duchy..... Perfect qualifications for the protected regional status!
  4. Good job & vid! Were the chipper crew able to keep pace with all those big lumps raining down?
  5. Interesting read so far! Fell within 48hrs? Is that stipulation as a consequence of the potential hazard from the trees or so as to avoid a change in circumstance post bat survey? If due to potential hazard, then it might be assumed that the hazard is severe and immediate. If that is the case, and bats ARE in residence, which takes precedence, hazard or bats? Also, if 2 large trees, are there eligible exemptions from felling licence? If not, how can LA realistically expect acquisition of FL in 48hrs? Interesting situation. Sounds like the 48hr fell stipulation might be an unrealistic / unachievable "rule" applied by an over keen minor official.
  6. Seems like that would be 2/198 accounted for 😆
  7. So that's tomorrow taken care of then! I know where I'll be looking....
  8. So, if it were still active, would it change from horizontal (when the tree was vertical) to horizontal as the tree lays potentially then showing successive growth in 90 degree change of pitch on a single fruiting body? Or would it somehow, re-orentate the whole of the existing fb? I've never seen that (never even thought to look for it mind.) I will now!
  9. Great pictures (and narrative!) Would have liked to have been there for that one but too much going on at home
  10. Really odd that.... Really odd.
  11. That's not an unusual or uncommon reaction.... Unreasonable, probably. Shocking, probably. Unnecessary, probably - unless there is other back ground supporting Intel. Here's the dilemma as I see it, the more jumpy the law enforcement agencies become, the more likely there is to be an unjustified homicide. The more unjustified homicides there are, the more jumpy licensed gun carriers will become. How far fetched is it, given the constitutional and human right to self preservation, that if a cop unholsters his sidearm, that the citizen may wish to do the same as a self defence "leveller?" The situation spirals! On a bit of a tangent, (question) are the cop shootings of black males a racially motivated circumstance? Looking at some of the criminal convictions, the victims are not exactly model citizens. Not saying that equates to a justification for summary execution, just that these are (probably) not the kind of people that play by societal rules - except when it suits them maybe. Are the black shooting of police racially motivated - absolutely 1000%. What a peculiar situation.
  12. Anyone interested in a regular arrangement to collect wood consisting mostly of standard and non standard pallets (which are whole or broken) Plus wooden bearers from the timber loads and various other natural wood pallets / timber packaging and damaged in transit / defective timber from commercial premises (builders merchant) in the following areas? Redruth Penryn St Austell Bude Newton Abbott Moretonhampstead Exeter Exmouth Free to collect but will require some paperwork to cover site access etc.
  13.:lol: Like that's a 2 minute job..... Not laughing at the advice (it's sound) just (through bitter personal experience) the prospect of trying (a) to even connect by phone with HMRC and (b) trying to talk sense to anyone with 2 brain cells if you do get through! My next conversation with HMRC is at the Royal Courts of Justice later this month... They wouldn't listen to reason, so now they are having their inept asses dragged in front of the beak.... Again!
  14. Have a look at this fellas: http://www.webbers.co.uk/pdf/sww_brochure_20160613new.pdf Next auction is quite soon but may be worth getting on the mailing list, they come round every 6-12months or so. Been some cracking little plots in the past, nothing quite close enough for me yet though!!
  15. She didn't miss a beat... Bloody nails them Russians!
  16. Is that a footpath or garden path in pic 2? Single tree in an otherwise barren landscape or 1 amongst many? Unless desperate to retain, best be gone and start again.
  17. He's spent the past hour circling the slide! Lucky he checked the calendar before stepping out.
  18. Just from memory (and subject to a book check later) I think, where appropriate, it is possible to protect a tree or group of trees within a hedgerow. Wether the picture in the first post depict a hedge (boundary formed by closely growing bushes or shrubs) or, so far as I can see, a linear tree feature is perhaps going to be a matter of judgement. Could you offer a bit of background info Ben? Is it just an academic question or is that an actual hedge / line of trees you might be involved with? Is it being classified by someone (LA, homeowner, neighbour) as a hedge rather than a row of trees? Is the definition of hedge / not a hedge important to what may or may not happen next? The pic below, by any definition, must be a row of trees rather than a hedge. But it is (group) TPO'd and it is a linear boundary feature. How big does a hedge have to be before it becomes a tree? There might be some merit in the earlier post which referred to frequency of trimming? Will read some books and see if it gives any pointers.
  19. I'm not saying I think it's a hedge!
  20. front mounted flail on a multione: cut paths through gorse as thick as your arm and bramble 15ft high!
  21. Linear tree feature. Could qualify for TPO if deemed appropriate.
  22. Might seem like that, but put another way, if you thought of it as working for 10 years it's less than £10 a day - I know that's massively simplistic but it kind of puts it in some sort of perspective. First task we put it to was a small demolition job, we'd allowed 25 man days - finished in 15.
  23. Multione UK dealer (Steve Hadfield) has a sponsored link on the right hand side of the page and a thread. Contact direct for best options, they may still have some ex-demo machines available. You get more than just a timber shifter when you start adding attachments!
  24. Depends very much on model / spec. You'd need to speak to MultiOne to see what's possible / available!
