Think its a case of, as they say, horses for courses. We have several hitters and all do better than others on certain sites. We also use a quickfencer which in my opinion is fantastic. 500m rolls save so much time on loading and joining, we even use 250m and 300m manually on rough steep ground to save time. 100m and 300m rolls of rabbit netting can also be used on it which again is a huge time saver. We do however staple netting home but also tie it neatly and on long stretches we will put tension bar on opposite end of quickfencer.

If it is your fence you can have good side any side you want it, and she is not allowed to put anything against it, hang or grow anything on it without your permission.

Our Palax does the same, think normally due to chain blunting and then putting extra pressure on bar. We have 4 way splitter,,,,DO NOT grease it. It will keep falling down.

Use a wheel myself avoiding the rocks, heather doesn't disrupt it and run it along fence at deep hags, don't trust anything else.

That must be where most the lorries are running from the now I'm seeing, logs and pulp non stop through Newtonmore. Think Pie has a few machines now and the Boyd brothers been into winches for a long time, excavator mounted ones look good.

Think the biggest problem with rotten posts is the type of wood being used and also the state it already in before being used. -

Would say there is no right or wrong way. Personally I do a bottom wire, post it then stay it, then a top wire which is the same height as top of netting then net it, then a plain/barb or hot wire above. -

There near two ton, just verging on the dangerous side on rough ground, was a disaster before we had weight of loader on the front.

I've been having the same problem with a shed I recently built. I used 150mm larch boards run horizontally and overlapped them by 30mm and its as if the water is soaking up the wood then through into the shed, my only plan is to use an oil based treatment to try and solve the problem
