  1. Have a look on exac-one site, they have all sorts. I got a log grapple and rotator on 5 ton kubota, best move ever.
  2. Don't spoil them with water tho, do as treequip says.
  3. Tomatin, Jura, Glenfiddich, but I bet you'd like a Glen Moray
  4. Think .7 ton a cube would be dry and seasoned. Birch fresh cut will be a ton or more a cube.
  5. If only you had asked last month, went down to Ilfracombe
  6. Will be fine, lots do it without problems, I personally haven't bought chain oil in a long time, just turn the oiler up if needed. Remember boys getting waste oil free, messy.
  7. and the chippers etc.....list is long
  8. Think they had rust problems to start with but ford were notorious for that to, believe that Tata is huge if not biggest seller in India and heard that defender were going to use some parts made from them.

    L200 advice

I've had 5, and no problems, can't fault them. Currently running new shape warrior at 28/30 mpg, which I think most 4x4 pickups average.
  10. There are a few firms about that area, think couple in Kincraig its self, should be easy enough to pick something up I would think. Good luck
  11. Patu/kesla, Keto, Arbro would probably be the main ones but as stated oil flow requirements are the biggest problem. Stroke heads don't need as much but are slow and not really cost effective. Next problem is too heavy for base unit and side slew on excavator not great if pulling out spruce thinnings.
  12. On big trees we always use steel rope, sling/strop round tree and join with shackle to rope to stop kinking, use trewhella clamp on tractor to get desired length, not lightweight though, but always have someone on tractor who is competent in cutting tree so they understand what to do and when to pull
  13. We had the same problem in our house lately. We have two stoves and only one was the problem, the chimney cowl was it. It was a curved cowl which is supposed to turn to face away from wind but in low winds it would not turn and smoke would blow back down chimney. Last week the problem was solved at three in the morning with smoke alarms sounding....in need of new cowl. Other cowl works well, it has slits and spins.
  14. They look like they'd be great, seen them on small excavators for landscaping. Have seen brash grabs that fit onto your log grab, look fairly simple but effective.
  15. Is it safe to do? Does anything need changed or altered?
  16. Too complicated, just burn wet wood, worry later
  17. Don't tell them that, just keep the wood flowing. How's the weather in Devon? Going down soon
  18. Between the wife and the kids that's the first argument I've won in about 6 years, apology accepted:lol:
  19. Aye there is, ordinary complaint would be too big or too wet, odd (strange or peculiar) would be too dry.
  20. Aye, now complaints of the title, topped today off nicely, cheers:001_smile:
  21. Anyone been told firewood too dry? Also, gave customer load of birch instead of softwood because we ran out and they complained (was sold at softwood price). Anyone else had this odd complaints?
  22. I recently bought a rock breaker with a post cap for a five ton digger which drives in strainers also, its fantastic. It was purchased from Paul Peacock in Herefordshire.
  23. Don't think you need it on your own ground or anyone's unless they ask for it. City & Guilds will probably do it, I had to do it with them for forestry commission for tractor and went with Donald Munro in Sutherland for excavator who was fantastic. If you don't need it don't do it, best learning's experience.
  24. Would a Browns post driver be suitable? Think 40hp tractor suitable. Whats ground type like in Cornwall?
  25. We've been splitting a lot of firewood lately with a large amount of larvae which I think are the normal giant or horntail wood wasp larvae, think these ones in the pic are laying their eggs in them.
