  1. Hello mate, are you part of Stephens company?
  2. I presume you have already thought of this, and in my opinion it differs how much you pay them MASSIVLEY, but, will you be providing them with a vehicle & trailer or do you expect them to use their own?
  3. £125 seems a bit steep for someone who doesn't have rigging experience and is essentially a brash dragger. I pay my sub by groundies between £65 & £90 a day. The latter with lots of experience in rigging, competent with a chainsaw (doesn't go digging), good at dragging (more than 1 stick at a time). (Very annoying when it's a 100m drag!!!!), and can rake up properly! Well worth the money and he's happy with it. For bigger jobs & longer drags I also use a 16 year old family friend who has little experience, no tickets, (but has first aid), can drag and move logs etc reasonably well but always has to be prompted. I pay him £30. He's also happy with it, and so am I.
  4. Pricing jobs will always be different from company to company. For example I can go out and smash a row of connies (12) in a day with my Iveco Daily tipper and 9'' Vermeer chipper. Where as my friend has to do it over 2/3 days because he's got an old entec 125 single feed 4'' chipper and a 90 landy non tipper. As a company I can price a lot more competitively because we can do it much quicker and easier. As well as getting rid of the arisings quicker and easier. It's the same if I was up against a company doing the same job with a 12'' chipper and a mog for example.
  5. Sounds like a pain. What car are you looking for?
  6. All depends on your situation I suppose. Have you invested a lot of money into your tree business? Do you actually want to take over the farm or do you feel pressurised into it as its your uncles farm?
  7. 7.30 for me. Although no rest for the wicked.
  8. Hi James, I'm always willing to help out when I can. With nearly 5 years experience, usual tickets, L3 dip arb, full rig (3.5t tipper and 9'' wood chipper) and saws etc. Can also bring my apprentice along too. Fully insured. Can also provide references if needs be. Take a look at my website too if you'd like for more info etc. Timbers Tree Care | Bournemouth Tree Surgeon & Garden Maintenance Services
  9. Very good advice from both. I'll get them updated/changed. Thanks.
  10. Glad to hear that nobody was hurt.
  11. Timbers Tree Care | Bournemouth Tree Surgeon & Garden Maintenance Services There's still a few things which need updating especially the grammar of the text. Anymore advice?
  12. I've got a Facebook like page and update it regularly with status' and pictures etc. I've got 4 likes off of 200 at the mo. Just contemplating doing the Facebook ads for a while. See how it goes!
  13. Has anyone done Facebook advertising/the sponsored ads? Cheers
  14. Give Blake a call. 07720852426. Say that I recommended him. Top bloke.
  15. Cool! Nice kit dude. Do you like the Forst chipper?
  16. Nice mate. Looks pukka. Is that a 7.5 tonne truck? And what skidsteer is that?
  17. I thought the same about the saw running full revs when nobody was touching it! I shouted at the TV when the police officer called the bar a blade
  18. Anyone just see Midsummer Murders?!
  19. Is that your tooth brush?!
  20. What's your name?
  21. I use my phone calendar. It's synced to the iPad too so is backed up. Easy to find old clients for repeat work/prices, easy to work out if people have paid and it's easy to book jobs in/change jobs around. I changed from paper diary last year and wouldn't look back.
  22. The bigger chipper the better. Imo.
  23. I'll be selling my Vermeer 935i 9'' woodchipper soon. It's 50hp, has some spares with it and has 900 something hrs. £5000 no vat.
  24. Anymore tips for the website?
