  1. Had it for over twenty years and used to it now.
  2. I still like my 8 ton petrol axe.
  3. We love ours a bit thirsty though ( our version). Not really any problems so far.
  4. Normal week 7:30 till 15:30 and 15:00 on a Friday, all kit supplied vehicle to and from work, sometimes it's good on the LA.
  5. Really depends how often you use them.
  6. Had to clear this up after the call out boy's made it safe from Saturday night.
  7. In Pontypool park we have a ski slope, when they made it they left an old Oak at the bottom of the run. The tree had been in decline for many years it was supposed to have been felled and ground out approx. 12 years ago, but for some reason it never happened. About 2 years ago we had to give it a short back and sides just to retain the spotlights on it. As you can see it's a bit of a challenge for some skiers.
  8. As above, my mate tumbled a pair and did not fit anymore.
  9. On our TW 190 we have a vice on the engine lift up flap, it works well for us.
  10. For the sake of thirty quid on Jonesies site for a new one, borrow some cash and pay it back from your first job.
  11. My mate had the classic one "Llamedos", Those who don't know read it backwards.
  12. Why not just leave it and any regroth just keep it cut.
  13. We all had to start on the smaller one and progress on to bigger things. You might even have a go at a 105ft beech with a 088 and 4ft bar and beyond one day.
  14. We dropped a Stihl 260 in a canal once, got it out straight away and it started straight away too and lived for many years after.
  15. All our council kit is marked with smart water.
  16. We are both on Torfaen CBC, we have a set stand by fee and then just double time on call outs.
  17. Never thought of head torches, are they any good, rechargeable or battery type, worth looking into.
  18. On the L A I work for we have 2 standby teams, myself full time on the trees and Graham S on the parks section filling in on the tree gang now and then, the other two Dil and Doh who are on the highways and refuse, but hold chain saw certs. Over the Xmas break they had a call out for a dodgy tree and some how left our 2 month old 261 under it ( see photos ) making a bit of a mess, the best thing though is ten months ago on another job they did the same with our 088, some people never learn.
