  1. Get hold of gardenkit. He will be able to help you out.
  2. Have seen this before, and cleaned out a few saws with this problem, mainly from someone using other peoples oils and changing all the time. Yep, that would be a reaction with the air.
  3. Just want to know how he got the saw re fueled? Did he have to spike all the back down and up again? Hallelujah.....
  4. I need to cancel mine. Can't make it. Sorry Pete.
  5. thats it then. i give up. im going to bow out gracefully now.... :001_tt2::lol:
  6. ok. ms260. in the crank case there is what appears to be a black grease/oil substance. it is black around the casing. bit like an old oil has been used and its a bit sticky/slimy. if that makes sense. and no its not chain oil.
  7. hmm, maybe easy to just buy the oil then. oh well. i guess i now have 45 gallons of diff oil at the ready.
  8. very true. my bad. but would still explain the rough running problems. the compression imo is fine. 150 is about right for a second hand saw. it should run fine on this. have you done a compression test after it has been run up and warm?
  9. so is there an additive that can be added to it for the tacky side and wear side? welcome. i do feel you will be busy answering a few questions.

dover lifeboat called out to a yaught that is dead in the water. once on scene it was discovered the yaught was also towing a small motor cabin cruiser. so both vessels under tow by lifeboat. there is a bit more to this story aswell but as of yet nothing to be told on open forum.
  11. waste oils are. its the bits in them from the use. clean oils have not been proven to be yet.
  12. It's on a. Processor. So not too sure how big the pickup is on them. It is adjustable I know that much. And gravity fed I think. The tank is above the chain and bar.
  13. Crank seals then. Only thing is an air leak in the crank case causing it to run rich. This would also be why adjusting the carb isn't doing anything. As no matter how much you adjust it it won't get the right mix with the air. Running on half throttle is enough to get just enough fuel to air mix, but not for long. Best to get it pressure and vac tested.
  14. Ok. Here goes. Can diff oil be used for chain oil? Got a processor that obviously needs oil. Have a 45g drum of old school diff oil, proper thick gloppy stick to a blanket diff oil. So honest question. Can it be used for chain oil. I'm never going to use it as diff oil and would be a shame to see it just sit in the barn corner.
  15. A 200 doesn't have a lot to port in it. The squish band increase and exhaust mod is more than efficient. As said look up spud. Send him a pm. Edit. Spud has posted just before I did. Lol.
  16. I know. But those clips are still a pita to prise out. Argh, getting fed up just thinking about it. Off to the jokes thread.
  17. Pah. Not going out that easily. I miss working on the big stuff. Need to get some big machines coming in the doors. Feel like I need a few 360s in there. Or at least something to get my teeth into. Had two 200ts in today that just needed a tune up. Then a 170 that wasn't oiling. Then a hedge trimmer that needed a clean out on the filters. Or new ones in this case. It started with the 170 just the thought of having to remove the handles to just pull the oiler out set me off. Stared at it for half hour before I even got the tool in my hand. Oh well Tommorows a new day I guess.
  18. It's the same for me really. Just the odd day of ground work here and there. The workshop is still my main bread winner. I guess I'm just losing interest at the minute.

    660 :)

Open up, look through the bench thread. Go back a few pages. Done one a short while ago and so has spud. Open up the baffles and create a new bigger outlet on the front. Think it adds something like 0.4hp on the saw.
  20. Just lately I've started to look at the tools I have in and get depressed, just no drive in me. It feels more of a chore now than enjoyment. Thinking I may just do what I have in and just stop for a while. Maybe move onto the plant machines for a bit. 2t stuff is just not in me at the min.
  21.:lol: Should get the missis to be your camera women..... Or would that just take too many takes Anyway top vid there Barrie.
  22. Another top job Barrie. Just one criticism. Get your fat fingers out the way....:lol:
