  1. Need the numbers for the Briggs and Stratton to get the right parts. If you have checked everything else with the coil.

Last night shout. A yacht with a fouled prop. Fishing net caught up in it. With no wind and the tide pushing the yacht into the shipping lanes it turned into a big danger of the yacht being rammed. Lifeboat arrived on scene at 20.18. Provided a buffer while the daughter boat was launched to investigate the net. No help could be given so daughter boat recovered and yacht towed into Dover harbour. Lifeboat refuelled and ready for service at 23.30. Then it was up early for me to get the lifeboat exhibit gear off to the war and peace show. If anyone from arbtalk is going pop over to the stand and ask for Richard. Would be nice to see a few arbtalkers. I'm there all week expet Thursday.
  3. I know. Just hate the Briggs and Stratton
  4. Remind me. I need to get a new extinguisher.
  5. Ok. I know the clutch smell very well. Why I was a bit confused over the type of smell. T clutch was all I could think of. Plus with going up hill aswell. Will be checking it tomoz. Thank you.
  6. Yeah it's a Briggs and Stratton. Any particular time it does it. They are known to do it on starting when warm.
  7. I did think that but the temp gauge didn't go any higher than normal. Stayed at half way. Like it always does. I thought it was the trailer at first. Will find out again tomoz. Pulling a heavier load. Twin axle trailer with big rib on it. Plus engines and all bits.
  8. Ok. Just seeing if anyone had a preference over any make or type. Was pulling a heavy ish box type trailer for the lifeboat today and going up hill on motorway started to smell of burnt rubber. Speed reduced to 40mph, didn't smoke out or overrun, just a smell. Soon cleared out on level or downhill. Just got to tow a d class rigid lifeboat tomoz on the same route. Think the clutch will need changing soon anyway.
  9. Is anyone else thinking about the arb and forestry show????
  10. Anyone reccomened a heavyer duty clutch for towing please, or one that will last long. For a disco 200tdi. Thanks.
  11. Or this one. [ame=http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OPFP05QPX-s]CHAD'S PLUMBING LAND ROVER V8 DRAG CAR RUNS 7.87 @ 172 MPH SYDNEY DRAGWAY 3.3.2013 - YouTube[/ame]
  12. Not sure about the mower but may bring the landy. [ame=http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B64qG0iAZeE]Santa Pod 'off road power' Fastest Land Rover 14.8 seconds!! PITCH BLACK - YouTube[/ame]
  13. Good result. Not so good for the bloke who brought it. Have greenmech ever thought of doing a machinery record type thing. They sell a machine and make a track of who has it. Then if they sell it or scrap it they inform you so you have a record of it. Then if anyone is in any doubt they can contact greenmech and just ask? I know it could be a difficult thing to do. If one manufacturer starts it others may follow.
  14. I had to think about that one pete. Nice one.:lol:
  15. I'm sure there should be a set of these lights there somewhere.
  16. Had a nasty episode from a 088 once. Would just kick back and really hurt. Would snap the pull handle clean through the fingers. It stopped one day. Just didn't happen anymore. Anyway the next time it went out to work the flywheel failed. Lost its magnetism and lost spark. Took some testing to find the cause.
  17. Its very clean and well looked after. And I've got to say. It is a nice saw. Bit like he one I had in recently. That was heavy but cut nice with plenty of grunt. I don't mine husky but will always pick up a stihl given the choice. Plus there hedgecutters are amazing. Oh and the 266 (think it was) didn't have heated handles.
  18. Yeah yeah yeah I know. I did say I have a price at what its worth to me. I wouldn't sell it but send it to you to be done. But it may get a few uses in the year. And at this point a few hundred on a saw would be a waste of money. Anyway its on arb trader now so see what happens. He wants it sold on so said I will see what happens for him. The sale will be with him but through me. If that makes sense. Just putting it out there to see if anyone is interested. Yeah I rekon this stihl policy thing is effecting the colour of what's coming in already. But there are still pants tho. :001_tt2:
  19. Went to look at one today. You couldn't pay me to take it away.
  20. Please stop. His head will not fit throught the door. And he will start charging more.
  21. I do like that bojangles track. First heard it on joe pascualy. Or however its spelt...
  22. Ok then. The husky will go on arb trader then. And yes as Barrie has said its an English version as its not upside down Also had an ms200t to look at. Not revving right. Cleaned out carb and it then wouldn't run on low revs. So cleaned out carb again. Now runs perfect.
  23. Thanks eddy. I have no idea. I offered him £70. That's roughly what its worth to me as it will probably never get used. Either that or sent to spud for a little bit of a face lift The hedgecutter was nice and simple. Would run for a bit then stop. Wouldn't run on full throttle. Opened up the carb and the meter valve was low. Checked and reset. All good. Yeah the iPad camera is rubbish for close ups.
  24. It must be this new stihl thing. There are more husky saws coming in than I thought and a lot quicker. Husky 351, this one is a senior customer who has no need for the saw anymore as he is too past it to use it anymore. He has asked for a clean up and sharpen, with a service. He then wants to sell the saw on. Asked me if I knew what its worth. And I have no idea. I know what it's worth to me but not as a general sale. Anyone give me any numbers? And the hedge cutter behind it is in, runs for a bit then dies out. Will then run with choke or fuel added into carb. So first up is clean out. Oh and a mount field mower with a frayed OPC cable. One on order.
  25. To all those that work at f r jones and sons. I have just seen the perfect payback for Justin. Check your chair carefully people.:lol:
