  1. I would have thought even if your garden was situated in a conservation area, then unless the tree has a TPO on it it doesn't make any difference conservation area or otherwise. Trees in a public area in a conservation area with or without a TPO I would have though is a different matter. I should imagine most of your busybody parisoners are moaning about someone cutting a tree with no TPO on it in their private garden/land. In which case tell them to sling their hook and find something else to moan about.
  2. .....you do know what girls are don't you?
  3. ..not if it's a private user in their private grounds it isn't. Only in a commercial environment the HSE and DTI guidelines do not recommend the use of etc. Personally I use my Efco 132s top-handle for small diameter logs on my sawhorse for my wood burner simply because it is very light and manageable. I'm certainly not breaking any laws in doing so. However i do know how to sharpen a chainsaw chain if that has any bearing on it. LOL.
  4. Projected selling price, less costs/taxes, less required profit margin= offer price.
  5. Conifers: brown patches / Royal Horticultural Society
  6. The UK Dept of Transport Regulations state: Diesel: Diesel carried by private individuals is not regulated as regards how much may be carried and how. Anyone contemplating carrying diesel in a vehicle should bear in mind the potential for fire and the likelihood of spillage from inadequate containment. Petrol: Regulations made under the Petroleum (Consolidation) Act 1928 control the quantities of petrol permitted to be kept in containers for private use. This limit also applies to carriage. A maximum of two metal containers each up to 10 litres capacity, plus a maximum of two suitable and appropriately-marked plastic containers each up to five litres capacity, can be kept in a motor vehicle. It's a bit of a grey area with the wording, as you are using the fuel for a commercial application you are still classified as a private user of fuel rather than a commercial user for fuel for storage reasons- such as a transport company or other such high volume user that would sore fuel on their premises in large containers.
  7. wanna bet??
  8. ...I had wondered where the only decent Ryobi had ended up. Thanks for letting me know.
  9. Dunno- probably going to find out tomorrow.
  10. That's only to aid the user. Got nothing to do with legislation.
  11. Errr I have. These moderations/deletions being discussed between andy collins and myself were not about anything I may have said or done. As you will read earlier on, i was wanting clarification. Anyway it's all done now.
  12. The state wants to convert our piece of land into Woodland! ...seems reasonable- normally it's converting woodland to housing so not complaining there.
  13. A few months ago a batty old woman came right into my showroom with a large shopping bag, plonked it down in front of our workshop reception and promptly took out an overfilled 5l plastic fuel can dripping fuel everywhere and dumped it on the counter- apparently she wanted us to check whether it had been mixed with two stroke as she had forgotten and was loathe to throw it away and start again. She couldn't quite understand why I rapidly removed it and threw it outside in a hurry and was a bit off with her.
  14. how bigs big then?
  15. Yup it's an aftermarket GOLF one. It's only a light under oiling and out of the two rings on the old piston one is unharmed and only the lower one is slightly compressed due to the light smearing. If i don't get the Dremel out with the grinder attachment to fettle the underside of the piston, I was thinking of cleaning up the old piston and re-fit using the two new aftermarket rings that came with the GOLF piston kit. The barrel is fine- gently removed the light ridging with a bit of oil and emery cloth. It's not a customers' job, but one I was going to keep for me to play around with, but I may sell it on the bay once repaired as a few bills new paying.
  16. Don't know which post you wanted to delete- hence the reason I was asking.
  17. so which category did the post you said you would delete fall into? Just so as I don't make the same innocent error you understand.
  18. Where did you buy it as a matter of interest?
  19. In a nutshell what you are saying is that in one sales platform you are exclusively selling to the trade and therefore they are only willing to pay trade money and in the other you are selling to the retail public which would naturally realise more than what a trader would be willing to pay.
  20. That's not partiicularly clear. Makes it sound like you delete posts because of what you personally don't like or what might upset your friends rather than a hard and fast clear set of rules. But hey-ho.
  21. Is discussing ebay off limits then? Just for clarification, as you said you would have deleted said post?
  22. We are debating- certainly not arguing.
  23. But isn't that a statement of fact rather than being derogatary to arbtalk?
  24. I understand. However, no matter how much it might hurt, in pure practical terms, it's a bit difficult to legislate what other commercial organisations can or cannot be mentioned simply because they either don't support this forum or at times can take revenue from it. Plenty of times people ask on here what saw to recommend- plenty of advertisers on here sell mainstay names such as Stihl and Husqvarna, however if I were to mention a product from Efco for example surely you wouldn't object to that even if it's a brand that isn't supported by your other advertisers or are we to only mention brands that are supported by your paying sponsors/advertisers?
  25. Maybe you should contact ebay and ask them if they are interested in an advertising link then? Everyones happy then.
