1. Ok...maybe not quite the correct phrase i used there....this guy wanted them fitted like a tight pair of jeans though so he could show his rrrr'ss off. There was no give whatsoever.
2. I recall selling a pair of Stihl trousers years ago to a person who travels, and he was more interested in how he looked in them and how they hugged his physique......a week later they came back with a split crotch. Remember it's not a fashion show, and in the right areas baggy is best.
3. The kaaz/danarm/lawnflite old honda model rear roller gearboxes fail....i agree, the wheeled models are much more reliable Honda/ Kaaz Pro Roller problems - Forum LANDSCAPEJUICENETWORK.COM Hi all, I'm new to this forum but it looks like a huge resource. I'm a one-man-band company mostly maintaining...
4. Gearboxes are notorious for failing and are eyewateringly expensive to repair
5. Wow...you are going back around 12...nearly 13 years for the all alloy 1m kombi extension. It's listed in my 2010 catalogue (product code 4140 710 7131) but doesn't appear in the 2011 catalogue, which it went obsolete. As far as I can find, no parts are now available for these early extensions, so you won't be able to make one up. Biggest issue I have found with the carbon Kombi's is when they are used for a lot and a long time with the hedge cutter attachment fitted.....the carbon shaft can flex with the weight and can cause friction hot spots within the shaft. This can soften the full length plastic support liner within the tube and when stopped being used it cools down and hardens up around the inner metal drive shaft, so seizes it up. Is this been your issue?
6. Kaaz always used to make good kit. When I started nearly 25 years ago, our dealership were selling their brush cutter and hedge cutter. They mainly used Mitsubishi, Kawasaki or Zenoah engines with their own bodies. Very good quality stuff. Problem we found in the end was parts supply. Danarm was the company that used to distribute them and they weren't really geared up for running a 'proper' efficient business. When we rung them for spares to repair machines...would would often get through to the owners who operated the business from a garage in their house and had all the stuff strewn about in boxes everywhere....it was all a bit 'heath robinson' then we had issues with the Kawasaki side of things as Danarm didn't do the engine spares, then Zenoah spares became non existent, as did Mitsubishi. We get them in occasionally now...20 odd years old still going, but we don't touch them because if we needed a spare, we just can't get them...and if we could find someone it would mean opening an account for a few bits a year which isn't worth it
7. At the moment with prices like they are, it would be cheaper than using andrex.
8. I recall years ago when we advertised in the yellow pages book....we also got a free online listing.....which also had a customer review feature online. All was great, until one day we had a guy come in with a newish mower we had sold which he had hit a washing line pole in the ground. Really bad...so much so not only was the blade bent but he had also bent the crank.....it was beyond an economical repair. We informed him as such to which he stated it was under guarantee. We explained accidental damage is not covered to which he replied 'well an engine should be strong enough so if I hit something it shouldn't happen' We politely pointed out a blade rotating at 200mph and coming to a dead stop within 18" of a cutter deck, something has gotta give.....plus there is no actual grass that grows strong enough for it to be correctly used on, to bend a blade, let alone a crank. He wasn't having so took to our review page on yell....together with his family, friends, pet dog etc. I rang yell and said these were malicious and spurious reviews and were damaging our business....i was happy to provide evidence. They weren't interested...they said reviews and feedback are valuable tool for future custom. I said we won't get any future custom, and if we don't get future custom then we won't be advertising. Still not interested....said it was all part and parcel of the yell package we had signed up for....only way to remove it was to not renew when it comes up......so we didn't and soon after yell went belly up...and all our spurious reviews disappeared with them. Sometimes, services offering a review platform can be counterproductive to said advertising company.
9. I don't want to embarrass them, or get arrested..........................again!
10. My near 60 year old tool is still performing much better than some of those younger ones out there.
11. I said the same in one of my earlier comments. Strange that conservative governments want a competitive marketplace when it comes to us the consumer...such as phone suppliers, electric, gas, insurance etc so monopolies cannot occur and price fixing follows, but its ok for councils to operate like it.
12. pleasant

Bar guage

The cutters are the same width on a .325" chain irrelevant whether the drivers are 0.50 0.58 or 0.63. Certainly are on oregon...cant see others being different.
13. Accreditation demanded by councils simply allows suppliers to charge the tax payer more. Employees charged with procurement have little or no skill in what they are procureing, so introducing 'accreditation standards' allows them to cover their backsides as to why they chose a particular supplier if it all goes pear shaped. This is why councils can and have been charged 150 quid a time to change a 60w light bulb in an office......there's many examples of wasting money because council employees want the reassurance 'it's not my problem mate' if they only use approved suppliers or contractors......in the real world most of us would pick up a light bulb from wilko in their lunch hour and pop it in the socket...all for a couple of quid, but when its not their money they are spending its easy to set up schemes to rinse the tax payer through inflated invoices
14. So....it's all about CYA.....covering your arse. So if it goes belly up, you can say to your boss or insurance company 'well, I used an approved contractor' That's the reality
15. Agree....reading between the lines of said quote, i take it it's a cartel to price fix. Particularly where councils and my tax is concerned.
16. National Minimum wage for employees over the age of 23 goes up to £10.42 per hour in April
17. Yes, if moored and is you main residence
18. On the assumption tenders are identical, as a tax payer, I would hope the council using my money would go for the most competitive price, rather than accepting a higher quote simply because one tender is from an approved contractor scheme and one is not. Or is the objective to join the scheme to up your prices knowing the council are instructed to favour members of the scheme, because that is what you are saying between the lines.
19. Can be expensive..... Mooring With Us in Staffordshire | Great Haywood Marina WWW.GREATHAYWOODMARINA.CO.UK At Great Haywood Marina, we have 200 secured berths in the stunning West Midlands countryside. With shared water points... ..and that's just to moor there. Then you have additional fees for pumping out, electric, water supply etc (that's just the fees to allow you to use those facilities..on top you have to pay for how much waste is removed plus the electric and water) Then your normal stuff like heating, insurance and a load of maintenance. Plus it's always decreasing in value unlike bricks and mortar. It's the water equivalent of a static caravan
20. I think £700- £800 mark. Anything more is a bit punchy. It's not rare, it's ten years old, it's an obsolete model, it may be clean for one of these, but still been used professionally so done some hours. I just don't see it more than that. Currently two on UK ebay....both on for £1100 buy it nows, which haven't sold, and one of those you can make an offer on, and still hasn't sold. Both been on for some time. Then there's this one on a buy it now for £950...again not sold and been on for some time: Sthil MS880 36” Chainsaw Heavy-Duty Perfect Condition WWW.EBAY.CO.UK
Sthil MS880 Chainsaw Heavy-Duty stihl ms 880 Chainsaw in excellent condition.

Well... Best guide is to watch a listing for one listed as an auction listing to get a better idea of worth...when one comes up in that format
21. Yes....indicative of the fact you had already answered the question posed by WILLC and I quoted what you had stated to him/her. Go back and you will see what I mean.
22. I hope you dont want to fell too close to the ground then?
23. 'Now, if i take the bar off and loop the chain back on the sprocket and pull the chain back and forth, it is smooth as silk'
24. Muddy....I'm fresh out of pitches. Will a new chain suffice? 😇
