  1. Blimey Mick....bet you're fun at parties! 😅
  2. According to the operators manual, parts and service agents in the UK can be contacted on 0800 4047657. Not sure how much help that will be. We get a load of the 'supermarket' cheapie chainsaws in for repair, and people think we are being awkward when we can tell them what's wrong with them, but we can't source parts to repair them, but there will still be a charge for us to look at it, so we would rather not touch them in the first place. Would be better off in the long run buying a spares or repair one of them on ebay and keeping it as a long term source of parts.
  3. Rough Hewn Veteran Member 6.2k Location: Huddersfield, Yorkshire Posted January 4, 2021 I read somewhere (probably on here) that in the case of serious injury or death, A mech will take the saw away for examination. First on the list is depth gauges. Remember you’re only insured if you follow their rules. Any chainsaw which is badly maintained will be hazardous at best. My insurance company asked me 3 times if I’ve modded my engine on my vehicle. They even asked if I had any shelving in the back as that could invalidate my insurance. My understanding of chainsaws is, If you mod it in any way, your insurance is useless. It takes years of R&D not to mention ce marks Bs certification etc Not worth the risk in a professional environment. At home... yeah get the spudded saws out and cut discos or firewood. 4. I suspect 'modding' a saw or fitting bar lengths above and beyond what the manufacturer recommends may well affect the validity of any insurance you may have....if they can apply it to vehicles, then rest assured they would find a way out of paying a claim for a modded or non standard piece of machinery that the insurer has not been informed of prior. I am happy to be corrected by an insurance company if this isn't the case.
  5. 10 or so years ago Milwaukee tools were always a low rent budget brand. Sold in America, made in the far east. Spent shed loads on marketing in the Europe and the UK trying to raise the profile and now promoted as a 'quality' product. They are not.....same stuff, just higher prices. Awful stuff..on par with Black & Decker, but at least B&D don't pretend to be anything other than B&Q quality. Milwaukee Tool is rated "Poor" with 1.8 / 5 on Trustpilot UK.TRUSTPILOT.COM Do you agree with Milwaukee Tool's TrustScore? Voice your opinion today and hear what 156 customers have already said.
  6. Steve....if yiu are giving them away, may I have a new member....preferably a large one. Mines a bit old and worn. Thanks. 😚
  7. 'Reading books'....there's a novelty nowadays. Welcome to you.
  8. Seems to be eating at the moment.
  9. Barkboxes and the like would fail noise and exhaust emissions...that why they dont come as stock....and the usa and in particular california are far more tougher on them than europe.....and emissions in europe are tough. Every two in 10 2 strokes we sell will need the fuel mix 'tweaking' during the pdi process...thats why we simply refuse to sell machines in a box anymore
  10. Yup..I would go with that. The TS760 was based on the 076 hence similarities, but the air filter cover looks more like the standard TS760 one.
  11. Why I read the title, I though this is someone who's quite kinky.
  12. Stihl 075 or maybe the later 076 with the hot regions extended air filter casing for a larger air filter to be fitted.. Cover design changed depending where in the world it was going to be sold.. Here's one with the tall cover removed. Uk and europe had a flatter filter and cover
  13. Deffo not a contra , 070 or 090. Very similar to the 075 and later 076....except the engine cover is higher in that pic. Will check my old catalogues and get back
  14. Avoid Bosch green plastic products though...they are the domestic range. Go for bosch blue.
  15. Recommended bar length given power and performance is a 16" bar on an 024. The bigger brother, 026 is fine with an 18"
  16. Reminds me of a joke from my school days. Why have elephants got big ears? ..............because Noddy wouldn't pay the ransom.
  17. Have you checked the current stud you have on it for wear and rigidity in the plastic body? The fact it has the tooless cover fitted may not be your issue....particularly as you have eliminated the bar possibility by swapping with new. The bar cover only clamps the bar in place....yes, its a much firmer 'grip' on the bar if its the proper nut system, but even so, you should still be able to tighten it sufficiently with the tooless system without you being able to move the bar up and down. These plastic body stihl have a habit of the threads stripping in the body.....check that the stud is sound before shelling out.
  18. Dont bother messing around with adding another bolt....you're not going to improve anything and you are going to a lot of effort for no return. Yes, it is easy to convert from tooless, although there should be no upward movement of the bar in either set up. Are you ensuring the bar tip is elevated up as far as it can be before tightening the cover 'wing nut'
  19. I wear belt and braces....just to be sure. ....a belt and braces option if you like! 😄
  20. Ok...maybe not quite the correct phrase i used there....this guy wanted them fitted like a tight pair of jeans though so he could show his rrrr'ss off. There was no give whatsoever.
  21. I recall selling a pair of Stihl trousers years ago to a person who travels, and he was more interested in how he looked in them and how they hugged his physique......a week later they came back with a split crotch. Remember it's not a fashion show, and in the right areas baggy is best.
  22. The kaaz/danarm/lawnflite old honda model rear roller gearboxes fail....i agree, the wheeled models are much more reliable Honda/ Kaaz Pro Roller problems - Forum LANDSCAPEJUICENETWORK.COM Hi all, I'm new to this forum but it looks like a huge resource. I'm a one-man-band company mostly maintaining...
  23. Gearboxes are notorious for failing and are eyewateringly expensive to repair
  24. Wow...you are going back around 12...nearly 13 years for the all alloy 1m kombi extension. It's listed in my 2010 catalogue (product code 4140 710 7131) but doesn't appear in the 2011 catalogue, which it went obsolete. As far as I can find, no parts are now available for these early extensions, so you won't be able to make one up. Biggest issue I have found with the carbon Kombi's is when they are used for a lot and a long time with the hedge cutter attachment fitted.....the carbon shaft can flex with the weight and can cause friction hot spots within the shaft. This can soften the full length plastic support liner within the tube and when stopped being used it cools down and hardens up around the inner metal drive shaft, so seizes it up. Is this been your issue?
