  1. ok fair enough, there is not much oil in there, I think like 1.5 ish litres so you are doing the right thing by getting it sorted and avoid any consequential damage, I would not think 20 miles would have hurt it, if u look on you tube at some of the tests ford do, you see how tough these trucks are, you prob have open diffs anyway most do, it's rare to have the lsd and the locking diffs, but some do, hope u get it sorted ok Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  2. Hi, how far was it driven ? and other factor is the speed, on these t6 models none of the oil in either transfer or transmission or diffs is due for a change till 100k which is a lot of miles, my gut feel is it prob did not hurt it, however you can always ask your dealer to use the clp budget it's a customer loyalty program and its for situations where you are loyal to the brand and the dealer, dealer loyalty is key so if u bought it from them and they service it, then you could get a good result, u may need to talk to cust services but the dealer can submit a case for you without speaking to cust Serv provided you've been loyal ! and they have not spent the budget, failing that try goodwill claim with cust services may still get it covered, hope this helps u out
  3. Rangers are not class 7, don't argue just take it somewhere else, safer that way
  4. Buy a Ford ranger or a hilux, always said these nissans are not all there cracked up to be, I suppose you do get two for one !, on a serious note I really feel for anyone who has this issue and hope Nissan go above and beyond in order to sort it properly, bet it won't be long before every mot tester will be scrutinising the chassis in that area, and rightly so, has anyone on here had one snap ?
  5. it's all to to do with how they get the funds to show, if they pay a cheque into your account, with a ref of cleared funds then you check and the money is there, however when chq does not clear the money comes back out, I think if they do a propper transfer then you are ok but you need to call your bank to see what route the money took to hit ur accnt
  6. I use aspen, if it was me I would continue to use the castrol in the ratios you currently do but obviously with aspen, unless you can find out if the manufacturer of the saws specifies something different, we used to use shell r at 16:1, from memory it was around 300 ml of oil to 5 litres, not in chainsaws mind, it was a mineral oil and carbon build was huge compared to synthetics, who makes the saws ? Favourite saw, sometimes dies as you initially pull on the gas, takes a few pulls to start up once that's happened, you have to be super gentle when taking the throttle up, would like to try and richen it up a bit but, Dealer said there is a screw but I can't see it, anyone aware of any adjustments, without the laptop ! 10. defender 90 with 350,000, bit like triggers broom, but original engine 300 tdi, I know of one which has done 650,000 on original engine again 300 tdi, moving over to rangers now, have 3 currently , 50k, 75k and 95k, seem good, easier than the defender in many ways, and not that nickable!
  11. had a 044 stolen and had to replace with 441 which I had reservations as it was a newish model, had it for 8 years and it's never missed a beat, run 20" mostly and occasionally 25" it really is a good saw, you got a bargain by the sound of if, nice one
  12. I have had a fair few over the years, pretty much as people say, gearboxes can be prone usually it's the 5th gear and the main shaft, had mine fully rebuilt for £1000 inc all new bearings, they usually go for 80k, put a new gen ford clutch in as well, tows great, around 24mpg, upto 2006, these are low geared nice for local stuff, PIA on a motorway, 2006 on were taller geared, boxes still prone ( same box just different ratios, I know the newer ones 2012 on you have to check to make sure you have a 3.55 diff in order to pull the 3500kg, otherwise the towing is rated at 1500 kilo, otherwise the new ones seem pretty robust, aside from the turbo issue and oil pump on the 2.2, I maybe selling my 2005 double cab thunder, fully serviced by ford for all its life, would be a great truck for someone, I just feel the need for a super cab
  13. If you have not yet, try and get a demo on a 550 husky, the auto tune adjusts the fuel map and ignition advance depending on what you are cutting, it's very impressive, light, and feels nice you may find it will do the job of a couple of saws, I have 5 saws 4 stihl 250,260,441,660 and 550 is my go to saw, sits well between 260 & 441 but, obviously it's not got quite as much go as the 441 but it's light, just my view, others may differ
  14. Stump & Grind ! dont get me started on this
  15. Forest Stump !
  16. look at the fuelwood splitta 360 or 400, 360 would be cheaper, really good bit of kit, very fast if you have rings, I just split the 2ft rings in half and feed them through, a 1m bag will be full in 4 mins if you are feeding it 12 inch ish rings, it's as fast as you can feed it, I apprecieate there is some work in ringing up so the 4 mins is just the splitting process, logs are uniform, does kindling too, and also useful for netts, have seen them second hand for 5k with 3k hydro pack
  17. I have always had stihl and really have got on well with them, I just felt the quality was slipping and those flippy caps are just poor, I like good kit and the way it feels, the 550 fuel caps are simple and feel good to use, never need to double check that they are on and tight, the 550 is well balanced most the mass is central so it feels great and is very nimble, it's power is impressive, it's become the first saw I pick up, it's punching above its weight, it does drink fuel but I guess that's as it's working harder, no idle issues, cold start fine, hot start fine, sometimes if it's neither hot or cold it's takes a few pulls, its easy to forget that this is a small saw, I find myself cutting bigger stuff when really I should use the 441 but if it's just a few cuts and chain is bright it just auto adjusts the fuel map and off it flies mines a 2015, keep meaning to get it plugged up to see how many hours it's done and at what load etc, will likely sell my old 026 and ms250
  18. Try a sprinkle of ash from the ash pan ontop of the embers, it's an old trick passed onto me by a local old boy, I run a coalbrookdale Severn, it stays in ok if I build it up, if u put ash ontop you have to rake it in the morn which will mean you loose some of the heart, good luck
  19. Thanks for your input, didn't used to have a problem but then got a 440 stihl and now getting lots more larger timber, the woodline can flip vert or horiz, just stretched on budget a bit and am loathed to get cheap unit as I know I will pay twice in the end !
  20. Iam after a splitter, interested in views about vertical or horizontal, like the look of the woodline wl10 multipla, if anyone has a decent petrol powered splitter, you can call or txt me on 07989432771 - Cheers dan:thumbup1:
