  1. Pete, I think you should have a word with cust service, they will keep chasing the dealer literally every day, it will also log each conv, with the dealer, essentially they will be in between you and the dealer, does not matter if u have warranty or not, it will focus the dealer and make sure they give it the due priority that it deserves, if it all goes pear shaped then Ford have been known to help out maybe not 100 % but something, just my thoughts, if u want the number for customers to call let me know, hope this helps
  2. yes I saw the new Dalen, it looked nice, very open in the neck leading upto the blade, I did not see it working but it did look well thought out, I don't know if they are belt or hydraulic drive. I bet it would handle big and bent stuff better than most but I did not see it run
  3. awesome tyre bfg km 2, amazing in the mud, go steady in the snow ! I fired a defender through my neighbours electric gates took out all the brick pillars, I obviously put it right, but I did speak to Michelin and mentioned what the defender did as I felt it was bit naughty, they told me the tyre is not marked up as a snow tyre, I had just assumed as I had the atko's before that these would be the same, they wore quicker than the atko bfg, but they look awesome steering feel is great, noise non existent, a very good tyre, they may work better on yours than my defender which lets face it are marginal at best imo
  4. that's a very fair point, so you can cut the blanks for the kindler, or if you don't want to split the small stuff just bundle them up and fire them through, it's a real versatile machine that's built like a tank, think they are s bit more money than most but you do imo get more, have to say was not too impressed with the 360 posch at the apf, aldo spoke to someone who is running transaw and binderberg the comment was at the end of the day the transaw has the bigger pile of logs ! there is one on eBay at the moment, think it's got a deck with it too, I did look at a palax 90 but they do two types think it was for softwood so a 90 s thought it was good but I did not buy
  5. I know If you are running a ford you can get 12 months as cover included with a service, service avail from 129, and it includes trailer cover and European cover, they have been doing it for quite a few years now, renew each service, but you may not be running fords! and they won't put it on anything other than, maybe of some use to u or someone
  6. The fuelwood transaw has 2/4/6 all in one or 2/4/8, saw it been demod at apt, what a beast, and u don't need to keep swapping the knifes, that's Gotta be good, one on eBay currently for sale
  7. the timber I saw on the posch 600 looked like it would be better in a sawmill ? mind you imagine that think cutting big straight pop for kindling.... how many bags an hour !
  8. The infeed was something I added about a year ago, it makes a huge difference, you don't need to lift big split rings as high, they feed much better, and I had mine set to 400 so it will split 400 high material, you need to keep an eye out for any that lift up just before the X blade, as the top bars are also 400 ( they must give you about 40mm extra in the splitting box) but the dimension of 360 is measured from the bottom of the shcute to the underside of the first support bar, when u fit the infeed they will put a hoop which is 400, so the capacity of the machine will go up, I have no probs with mine and Defo worth the money, mine is a fold up one from fuelwood, I just gotta sort out my process now !
  9. nice one, you won't look back, it's an awesome machine, customer service is great from fuelwood
  10. I think it depends, a few years back I used to use the smaller version of the 400 the splitta 360, awesome machine, produced nice regular logs I set it to produce about house brick size logs, they dried well burned great, then the feed back I was getting was that they liked the bigger bits, so I made them a bit bigger, it's easy to adjust just takes a few seconds, these were quite a lot bigger say 4-6 inch, but then people started asking for smaller bits, mainly as the machine makes such regular sized logs, I still have the 360 and love it I use it a lot, it's a great bit of kit, I also have a processor which takes upto 14 inch and fires it through a 6 way this gives as you say big logs, some do need to be split down but there does seem to be greater variation which strangely seems to receive no comments, and the 6 and 8 inch through 4 way is nice, I can see that people always want what they cannot have, I think the best would be to mix the lot up, difficult for me as I split direct to vented bag. I also just remembered last year I had a lady who was used to having the bricks from the 360, she was not happy as this new stuff had bark on it, she asked it it was ok and would it burn ! I smiled, and said all my logs are guaranteed to burn or your money back ! she is still a customer
  11. Nice one, looks in reasonable shape, the saw head folds down for transportation, you can see the two location sockets and pins, and the pivot point, I had the same saw, I used to use a top link from 3 pt, the lower pulley is very close to the ground so u need to be ultra careful if u decide to move it in the upright position, interesting stenner still carry spares for these, there is an old boy called Fred at stenner I think that was his name and he will give u some info, I guess it still has the serial number, this saw looks scary but when you use it you will be surprised how slow and effortless it is ultimately u need to be careful as this machine commands respect and will not take any prisoners if you slip up, but will cut some large timber, I will have a look I may have some new guide blocks for the blade and some new bearings for the bed rollers, if I can find them you are welcome to them, keep us posted, and look at how it folds over it might just save some accidental damage to the expensive lower pullee, good luck
  12. Based Midlands not far from Stratford on Avon, do you know any good suppliers ? I also buy about 200-300 ton of hardwood / year, keeps me busy on the weekends, so always looking for a good reliable supply of good processor grade stuff, thanks again
  13. cheers, I have got on very well with pop, only slight concern I have is if I was planning on seasoning outside is how much that stuff seems to absorb when it sees the rain, it does dry quick though, thanks for the input, appreciated
  14. I have tried drying in the nets but find if I stack them up they go mouldy, I don't have masses of undercover space, do you stack them on pallet wet ? I have tried splitting it into vented bulk bags, works well but you have to then rebag into netts which is not viable, what do u cut the rings with and what timber do you find works best, Iam using a splitta which is awesome, I did 1500 in my first year, but Iam getting asked for more, problem is I have not got my process sorted to deal with higher volume, I was thinking cut rings off the processor, dry in boxes then feed through the splitta straight to netts, the 1500 I have done were mainly from arb waste cut with chainsaw ! but I would need decent timber and some boxes all of which is $$$. do you do neat or random and what lengths, all mine is under around 9 but that lends itself to neat, if I was going random prob have to sleeve machine to 6, using bag supplies 6040 nets, price varies wildly and I need to sort that out, I have no inclination to have a big business but I would like to produce enough if I can crack it to keep my other customers happy, the quality is ok it just takes too much time ! I enjoy making stuff so it's not about the money if it was I would prob buy in from elsewhere, what's the going rate for a net wholesale roughly, cheers
  15. Just got back from the Apf, great show, saw loads of toys and some of the kindle machines, I have a machine already but don't fully utilise it as I don't have a good supply of timber, do people generally dry in the round ? also what's the best species to make nice clean stuff, Iam thinking cut rounds allow to dry then kindle, can't decide if to go neat or random fill, I find pine or larch goes through cleanly if cut correctly or parralel, also how many 60x 40 nets from an 8 wheeler load as I struggle to get an artic in, any pointers appreciated, cheers
  16. Alarm Mine [H4990] - £13.50 : Henry Krank, Everything for shooters and collectors just don't forget where you have left them set up, I have found that one of these screwed to the gate, even if not armed is an effective deterrent, maybe they don't like the thought that they may encounter more than they had bargained for, you can use blanks which are black powder and they really do go bang, Iam sure there are some vids on you tube, at my old place I used to find the gate open and the cart fired but nothing more, something about a 12g going off just a few feet away and the ringing in the ears !
  17. you have to check what diff is in the Rangers, I know there are different ratios and the tow cap is hugely different, you need the 3.55 for towing, there are some about with an Eco diff taller ratio and they can only tow something silly like 1600 kg which is no good, trucks look the same, most are the 3.55 but there are some out there so be careful, you can check by looking on the ecat parts system or your local dealer, we run two new t6 Rangers and no had any bother upto 75k now and feel really good and strong, thinking of replacing one soon but the 7 month wait puts me off, would have to be a supercab
  18. The filters on these are due for a change every 37500 miles, seen lots of issues especially if any poor fuel has been used, check when your filter was last changed if it's due change it, that way u are not doing anything that's not req, also good advice on here get it plugged up, sometimes they won't code for a blocked filter but sometimes u get lots of injection codes which people assume is a pump issue
  19. I bought a woodline multipla wl 10, Honda engine, tilts, double pump, really good, cost 1100, will split 95 % and only gnarled up stuff gets a refusal, I would have another in no time, I also bought a double pump Thor 13 ton vertical with table four way and wide wedge, hardly ever gets used, it's always little red multipla that gets used everyone's favourite difficult to find though as fuelwood don't sell them anymore, although I have seen they have some specials on the amr range and they are good too, I would buy new and try not to mod, but depends who's going to be using it ?

Hey thanks for that, I have been running it the premixed aspen for a few weeks and have to its much better, I was using the husky oil and Iam careful to get the mix bang on, but maybe the fuel was poor quality, think it was murco and was super 97, the saw was new and has only had a few gallons through it, either that or it's the time of year / atmospherics that have changed and are more suited to the base tune, keep on going and see how it pans out, still like these saws, thanks for the heads up Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
