  1. The title of the thread is " What is experience ? " I think experience is doing loads of stuff and learning from any mistakes ......
  2. I think the " non users" , of which I am obviously one are coming out of the wood work as up until now they did not realize they were " doing it wrong " . Most of it is just common sense I recon . Don't put a running chain on yer leg .....
  3. I'm with you Andy . I'm 60 years old and probably used the brake 60 times .....
  4. Whats the voltage out there ? Do you have a step down transformer on your amp ?

  6. Funny you should say that Was just listening to an instrumental of that buy the late Big Jim Sullivan
  7. Yea but I did say it depends on how tightly you put the wood back together ! Sorry feeling a bit mischievous tonight after having one bottle of Peroni . I will wind my neck in and shut up ...........
  8. Yea that's true but he said what takes up more space not whats the heaviest .
  9. The only thing that takes room is air space within a parameter .( which you need for drying ) but purely on the question It depends on how tightly you put the wood back together . A ring on its own has no air space but several rings together have air space just because of the shape . If they were cubes no air space , but rings yes . If you split the rings into logs or billets and pack em tight so as to minimize the gaps then I tghink they take up less space in a given volume .... but thats no good if you want them dry !
  10. Thanks to Rob for dispatch of the bars as promised . 18" on 560 ( pictured ) and 15" on 346 . Try out Monday I expect ....after the winds !

  14. About an hour is long enough on my 3120 with its 50" Canon bar . I aint getting any new muscles at 60 years and counting !
  15. When am I going to get the muscles ? 372 and 395 2 days running now ( in the rain ) ........In bed at 8,30 last night !
  16. I have Meindels and Zermatts . The Meindels are more flexible the Zermatts are more plush on the inside but more rigid generally . I can wear both no problem
  17. Without knowing what kit you have its hard to say . Do you have a processor or the other end of the scale a saw and an axe ? What I would say is the margins are tight so you need the upmost efficiency .
  18. Does anyone know what percentage ethanol is in U.K. pump fuel ?
