  1. Meteor make good pistons but don't think they do a pot . Highway arnt bad by all accounts . Don't go the Chinese route though . Do you know the cause of the failure ? Best fix that first if you haven't done so .
  2. Was the same as you for years . My open fire was probably one of the better ones in that it ha a good draw and you could hardly detect any smoke when it was alight . However I have had a a stove now for the last 3 winters and can confirm it is way better . I leave all the internal doors open and the heat permeates all through the house and up the stairs . You can also have an Echo Fan that sits on top of the stove and pushes warm air around the house . It works of the heat of the stove . If your fire place is against an outside wall you can have the room seal kit which which will allow the stove to draw its air ( cold air ) directly from the out side . This is the best way to go I think .
  3. What you gotta do and where mate ( non of my biz I know ) ?
  4. Had £105 a few weeks back ...£96 along time ago and numerous tenners when you got a tenner for 3 numbers and recently two ..or maybe three £25 for three numbers . You got to have a hobby though ....
  5. RED LINE Racing 2T oil . Its by far and away the best ........

  9. John Pitts that is . More expensive than Stubbs Cops .
  10. Stubbs cops at Cross Bush just up the hill out of Arundel . They are the cheapest . Its about 4 or 5 miles east of Chi on the A27 but still worth it . No relation by the way !
  11. Win win !
  12. Your as silly as me though Steve ......
  13. When I was 18 ...axe . Now I'm 62 ( almost ) mechanical splitter .
  14. On the larger Stihls it has been reported on here ( quite a few times ) that the exhaust gases are directed at the plastic handle softening it so that it bends rather than operate the brake .
  15. I can confirm the glass stays very clean . Some of that is down to low moisture wood I would think .
  16. Dunno ...... Or maybe its because it works on the principal of keeping as much heat in the fire box as possible and heating the body of the stove up rather than leaking it out . Its a Burley Hollywell . Look em up on how they work . Good stove .
  17. Hes the bloke who used to keep raw tripe in his pocket !
  18. She is dead now mate . Died at 15 . She would hunt like all spaniels even bring back wounded game from the previous day . First bang and she went to pieces .

  20. Short answer ...yes but you have to go through the appropriate channels to get the permission . Get the tree officer out .
  21. First step is put an open gun on the floor near where she eats her food to get her used to the look of it . Did this for 2 weeks . Then walk about out side with gun and dog with gun open . a week of that . Then walk about closing gun occasionally and pointing it up and down again . Rewarding dog and reasuring her all the time . A week or so of that . Always putting open gun on the floor at feed time . Then something quiet like air rifle and so on etc etc and so on . Did all of that and more . No use . She did not like bangs end of . Her sister on the other hand would run to the door if you so much as looked at the gun . She was bonkers . In reality I needed something in between !
  22. Got my stove glass today . It was just the inner glass that was cracked . Did not remember that it is double glazed ! Has two 4mm panes separated by a seal .
  23. Complete knob .
  24. Dosnt work . They are either frightened or they arent . I once had 2 spaniels from a litter of pups that were working dogs . Both parents were good workers . One pup could not get enough the other was totally gun shy . Even shooting in the distance when t home would worry her . It stopped when she lost her hearing as she got to about 15 years old .
