Yea is a bit ! That is a rare model though . Your point to point hand wired 60s model seem to go between 2.5 K and 3,5 K . The good thing about my more modern variant is the addition of a master volume so you can drive the valves hard to get that break up but it all happens at lower volumes .

Its quite common on modern stoves to have a kit to draw cold air in from the outside . Most stoves over 5KW have to if there is no room vent . Its actually preferable to have cold air as its denser than warm air so contains more 02 for combustion ,

The narrow vents make it older rather than newer .

Actually the " new " Chinese made AC30 came with Wharfdale speakers for about 2 years . Wharfdale were charged with emulating the 1960s Celestion speakes and did a fair job of doing so . However they are not Blue backs . The trick is to get British made blue backs and not recently made far eastern blue backs which look the same but have a different cone material , so I am informed . Mine is in a birch ply cabinet and not an MDF one that some recent models are .

I have one of those blowers ( about 8 years now ) and its never let me down . Its wired how things can be so different . Don't disbelieve you for one second but mine is a goodun .

Any musos out there with an AC 30cc2 ? I have just bought some Celestion Anlico 12 " Blue back speakers to fit in my amp . I am assured they are British made and not the new Chinese made ones . The Wharfdale OEM speakers are not bad but wanted a more 1960 look/tone . Any one else done this ?

I think the 555 does not have the rev boost that the 550 and 560 have . A bit of a quick zip up when snedding etc .
