I think some of the early models had one less crankcase bolt so those parts arnt interchangeable

Yep . Been there . Sometimes as Eggs says it turns out fine others it doesn't . I got shafted once and now I only pay with paypal or pay cash on collection .

What I remember of it first thinnings is a snot gobbling job and you would have to pay me lots Just cutting out racks is not so bad but re spacing and going in the dark parts is orrid ? -

I ran my 572xp against my mates spud ported 372xp yesterday I have also ran 572 against 462 another mate has I am husqvarna through and through but the 462 is a great saw in all honesty they are all so close it's hard to call in my opinion the 462 is now more like a husqvarna than any stihl has been befor I know I was just being a twat ! ?
