    560

I know we have had this before But - - - my dealer got his re stock of 560 saws ( after the initial recall ) and i bought one today . Its on a 15in bar full chis . Got an 18in bar as well . Very impressed. Knocked out really . Leaves my 357 for dead. Just hope it stays that way ! In the mean time spud is going to work his magic on my 346. I will put the 15in on the 346 and make the 560 the 18in when its all done . I feel like a spoiled kid ! ( no one is to go looking for one for me though ! )
  3. Every thing you have just said makes perfect sense to me Steve. Could you let me have the address you want it sent to ? I am picking it up tomorrow . Best regards Andy.
  4. Hi Steve/spud. Thanks for getting back mate. I have just phoned my dealer ( DM Chainsaws , Walberton West Sussex ) and the guy is baffeled . The new carb did not work so he put the old one back on . Bearing in mind it still has these problems to sort would you still be willing to take it on ? It is 50cc with de comp , think its the black coil . 07 model as I recall . Regards Andy.
  5. Spud. If I ever get my 346 back from my dealer (running probs I mentioned to you before ) Would you work on it for me as you have done yours . ? Will pay the going rate of course . It seems to me you could pull an 8 or even a 9 pin rim on it now with a 15 inch bar . Serious chain speed ! ! I am an old git and am from the BSA bantam / C 15 era. Ariel arrow was my weapon actually . I am impressed with yourr knowledge / research. ( major sucking up going on now !) But would be really interested if you would do a job on mine > Best regards Andy.
  6. Spud knows his stuff no question. However I would steer clear of after market pot and piston( speaking from experience ) Manufacturing tolerances are not as tight on these some times making it a false economy . What has happened to you seems to me to be a factory QC problem and as such Husqvarna should fix it . Press for that and good luck .

    Finally!

Hi. Did you specify the big double soft wood dawgs ( spikes , ) and the high top filter ? I had a 2003 one stolen that had all that and a a full wrap handle and when the replacement came it had only one small spike , a low filter and standard handle .
  8. Can't advise you on anything other than what I have and that is a Husqvarna 345 rx( or the latest equivilent model ). Can't remember if its a different number now . They get hammered in the summer and I think they are stonking brush cutters . I have worn out one since 2004 and on the latest model as from last summer . Very powerfull . they do make one sise larger at around 50 cc also .
  9. It sounds like you have got a hard nosed bar . It has no nose sprocket but the end is stellite faced to be hard wareing . I personally don't like them but it means you can use any chain that is the right gauge for the bar depending on whats on your rim on the power head . 3/8 .404 or what ever .
  10. I had the same thing on fleebay with Sony wide screen tellys . They were cheap , but not so cheap as to arrouse suspision . so I bought one . Nothing came and the " pissadiered" from ebay with my dosh and I suspect loads of other peoples . Lesson leanmed .
  11. I Agree with Steve . Day in Day out starting a little 346XP (the earlier one ) without de comp and then the new slightly bigger capacity one came along and wow ! my tennis elbow slowly went .
  12. Hope they are not from China town ! !
  13. Yea well it came with that . Its an expensive after market one which is fatter and allows the saw to sit on flat ground with the bar off the ground (long bar I should say ) Its running a 36" .404 on a GB titanium . It came from a buddie of mine in Canada . I think its a 2004 ish Can't remember will have a look - - - no sorry 02 . Anyway it goes like stink. Fells to me it runs faster than my 3120 but of course not as much torque .
  14. I have some 9 pin .404 rims that would go on my 395 . ( ported muffler da da da de daa )
  15. Can any one tell me how to calculate the number of extra drivers in a chain if you are going up from a standard 7 pin rim to a 9 pin rim ? I suppose its not as simple as 2 extra driver for the 2 extra slots in the rim sprocket ? Or is it ? ?
  16. I have had plenty of (in ascending order ) Fat slugs, dog poo , fox poo . I think the worst I had though was a tin of white gloss paint with the metal bramble head on - - - nasty business !
  17. There is one one the husky 50cc 346 and its a god send .
  18. Good point well made and I do have one . It blocks a lot of the heat and I tend to ignore it normally , only burning ash, elm, some beech ,holme oak( love this one ) and the fast seasoning sycamore . Any way A side interest I have a corck screw splitter ( road towable ) With its own engine ( Honda GX 390 - 13 hp I think ) and an hydraulic 20 ton splitter with an anvil both ends ( so you can go either way ) Its a Chinese splitter that I coverted to road towable with a different set of wheels a suspension. . The corckscrew is faster on easy splitting stuff but it needs a few more dobbins for the tough stuff . Hence the other one .
  19. Hi all. New to this part , only been on the saws bit . Anyway I work with my buddie and we get enough wood to keep us going but not enough to sell big time to others . (I do a few pick up loads for friends and thats it ) So We take down a dead standing ucaliptus ( don't know how to spell it ) mid summer . I split and stack the whole thing in my wood store . It is tinder dry, come this winter it still is .. Sooo when it gets cold I burn some . ( open fire ) - - - now I need a new carpet ! Wood buners only ! ! Sorry to all that know this already but I thought cherry was bad ! oK wHY DOES IT SPIT SO BAD - - ANY ONE ?
  20. I used to be like you but I am 58 years old now ! What about giving your boots a good old winding in of some leather food before the weather forecast on the telly ? - you know it makes sense after all they ate on your feet when you get in - - - surely ?
  21. The 200 has been the best there is for a long time now ( I have 3 ) the 201 seems to be a step backwards by all accounts , though I have not tried one myself . However - - - - The new Husqvarna ! ! ! ( Shock Horror )T540 would seem , from what I have herd , to be a bellter . Bearing in mind all their previous efforts have been pants . Sooo hold fast with what you got and when a T540 come out see if you can get a demo saw for a day . I think, and its only my humble opinion , that in general Husqvarna ground swaw are the best and Sthil make the best climbing saw( I will get stick for this statement but hey ) Its about time Husky got it together with a climber . Best Regards Andy.
  22. As Rover says "there should be" Just pop the top cover , take off the air filter and look down the intake . If the butter fly valve is closed when the choke lever is out that is correct , if its still closed when you push it in then there is your problem .

    Saw

I agree with you totally about sthil hedge cutters , they are pants. I have 2 Husqvarnas , a long one and a single sided one . They sound more like saws when on full chat but I expect they are more expensive than the equivalent Oleo-Mac.
  24. From what you say you want it for why not get a new cheaper (read tried and tested) 372 or even a 365 special . You won't have the extra weight of the 2 barrel carb and all the other "x torque" ( read low emmision) stuff ? Regards Andy
