  10. They are not always the same. The Americans have tn EPA and California has its very own spec . For example a California spec husky 338 (crap I know ) is so restrictive due having to meet the strict emissions fopr that state they had to make the motor a bigger capacity and even then it was gutless .
  11. In the past I have hadf one or two for free when they were marked as "a gift" but they are wise to that now .
  12. About 2 or 3 years ago I planted 2 small oak pixies near my log pile . They were about 2ft tall . Grew them in pots initially. They were about 2 meters back from the edge of an old railway line that has been made into a cycle track ( from west Dean to Chichester ) . They were in full leaf and some knob with a tractor mounted flail rashered them off to the ground . I despair .
  13. I f its brand new from a dealer then yes you do . I used to by second hand on a regular basis back in the day when the £ was strong against the $ and sometimes there would be no charges at all and sometimes there would be . When new, there are customs charges and handling charges and all the paperwork attached . So yes , be prepared !

  15. Superb pics and a lovely family day . Glad you had a good time . Thought you might pop up and put a bit of tension on that tree brace !
  16. I am on the small scale here . The only wood I get is from work when the customer does not want it . I have ash syc and holm oak . and some bay . More than I need per winter but not enough to sell on a commercial basis .I do a load for the farmer whos land it is stored on and the rest is for me . There is one neighbor who asks for a load of "granny " logs as she has a small stove and to be honest the £50 she gives me is not worth the hassle . So no I don't think its worth it at all .
