  4. Used to use the husky XP oil but for years now iv been using my dealers " own " brand ( DM Chainsaws of Walberton West Sussex ) and nwever had a problem .

  7. Can any one find that post that had the you tube vid of the German guy who made the fixture for holding a saw and hand feeding the branch wood onto it . The throttle was activated buy a piece of what looked like piano wire as the log pressed down on it .......
  8. Obviously if you can try it you are better off ( as opposed to it being posted , ebay etc ) If it starts cuts and oils the next thing to try is will it stay running when its hot . Some saws will start and run for a short time but if they have low comp will refuse to run when they warm up . so get it hot and see if it still runs , idles etc .

  11. I just sent him a pm saying please don't go cos I love the interaction . Hope he stays L.O.L ! What I find in the elm is the helical heart wood and the strait outer wood . Thats why you need some mechanical advantage !!

  13. Dead standing elm is THEE best fire wood in my eyes . Can be a baaalamb to split without some sort of mechanical advantage but its got to my 1st choice always and for ever amen x 10 ......and that !

  19. He means pacific North West I think ... Any way I had an old Jonsered back in the 70s . Cant remember the model but it was big and heavy , all metal and not much in the way of A.V. Don't think it had a chain brake possibly around the 80cc mark .......
