  1. The roots wont suddenly go away just because the tree has been taken down . You need some one in with a stump grinder if you want the stump to be gone . The roots will be dead but still there .
  2. A forced regen is what I thought I was doing ? There is a place near me that will take it off , put it in a machine and blast it through with out damaging it . Takes about 20 mins to clean so, an hour or two to remove , clean and replace ?
  3. Its the same where I am Steve . Those little seeds even get in my bed . Its kinda normal for me now .
  4. So , Today I drove from Chichester to Arundel and back then on to Southhampton air port roundabout . Then back to Chi then between Chi and Emsworth on the A 27 3 times . Used a about a third of a tank of fuel and was driving for about 2 hours . There was an improvement , it will rev above 4K in 1st and 2nd but tugs back in the other gears . you can feather the throttle in 6th to eventually get almost 90 m/h but the DPF light has not yet gone out . It might have cleared if I persisted but I got board . Might get it taken off and cleaned in a machiene . Then add some JLM DPF regen plus in every tank full . This slightely raises the exhaust temp to help with keeping the DPF clear . Its designed especially for twats like me that don't go any where !
  5. I find " Deer Hunter " coats very good . I have 3 . One for autumnal weather , one for the south of England " winter " and one for winter at the North poll . This last one gets worn once very 5 years or so . Fine if you are standing still but take a step or two and you are sweating light bulbs .

  8. She could always re name the cottage Ex Silver Birch . 🙂
  9. But with the increase in price of electricity that's coming they will be less economical than wet fuel when you consider charging them .
  10. I have done this on my old truck ( 2 trucks back ) It was a filter of some kind imediately after the exhaust manifold . I removed it drilled it all out and replaced it . I also blanked off the EGR . It went a bit better but smelled like an old diesel but of course no electronic warnings on that old one . . If I did what you are suggesting above would it still pass an MOT ( in 3 years time ) and if there was no DPF would not the partials just block the CAT further down the line ? It already has a Tunit box and blue tooth power pedal that sharpens the throttle response and ups it from the stock 190HP to 237HP .
  11. You need to seek out the Wise Woman . She knows all . 🙂
  12. Some of the locals from my village have out gathering . Damsons , sloes , blue berries and elderberries . Then we are " cun'rey folk " 🙂
  13. To true eggs me old mucker , to true .
  14. I thought I needed it but I did want it . All I have had is trucks . Habit I suppose .
  15. Yes I had no such problems with my D40 . Don't think it had a DPF ?
  16. Yes mate . Logs from my log stack , towing my splitter , horsey stuff , bales of shaving feed etc .
  17. I have a fairly new NP300 with all the anti pollution gizmos EGR valve , DPF , nox sensor , CAT , another nox sensor in that order from the engine back . This makes it ULEZ compliant and brings the road tax down a bit . Also on it are things IMO that tend to fight against the above . An actual MPG and average MPG monitor and a stop start thing ( which is turn offable ) . On the one hand I am drawn to the MPG thing so try and keep it doing its best average and the stop start turns off every time you halt ( unless foot on clutch or you have turned it off anyway ) Doing this is bad for the other components especially the DPF . It needs to get hot to self clean , the CAT needs to get hot to function . As everything I need is local most of my trips are short . This makes the DPF start to clogg . So I have to drive fairly hard up and down the motorway until it regenerate and the light goes out wasting fuel and polluting . The whole thing turns up its own arse I think . Totally frustrating . The best thing I can do is ignore the MPG monitor , leave it in a lower gear that I normally would ( so it revs a bit higher ) and once a fortnight drive aimlessly up and down the M27 . Thoughts ?
  18. Nope . Not here . Bug splats a plenty on the screen . A few squashed badgers , Deer in the form of Fallow , Roe and Munties . Pheasants and Partridge just starting to appear as the Keepers get their birds but have seen a few " wildies " who are sleeker and shiny with longer tails for a given age . Util the river dried up ( as it does every year ) We had Herons , Egrets and Mallard . Not seen any Shell ducks this year . Oh West Sussex by the way .
  19. Any one got any free milk or cheese they don't want ? I am quite happy to collect from your fridge . Eggs , bread etc etc ...
  20. How long have you lived in the shire Stevo Baggins ?
  21. I got caught out on a job like that back in the day . I had an 10x8 double axle trailer you could hold a dance in . No chipper . I spent 3 days on it and several trips to the green waste site ( stubbs cops at Arundel ) Rashering it all up with a saw to get as much in as I could , forking it all out took ages with blokes with tippers queued up behind me . On the last day at the green waste tip I lost the will to live . I was saved buy a young bloke With shoulders the width of a barn door , hands like shovels who just wanted to tip up . He could see I was spent and he just mucked it and grabbed huge armfulls and got me cleared . I vowed never , ever again in the world X 10 Amen .
