  1. I've just ordered a length of Platinum from Honeys to try as a lanyard. Did you get any in the end James?
  2. I used 100cm with one and found that a bit tight.... i thought I was waif like round the shoulders!
  3. Update, put user name to names so I can keep track Breakfasters: Arran (Arran Turner) Joe, (JNewton) Allister, (chunkymunky) Roy, (roycurwen1) Jack (jackmayo) Jake (jbowdige) Barry Chris (ChrisG) Jack (caveman27) Wayne (5 shires) Ed (Cov Climber) Brian (Rebel_Commando) Paul (Silky Fox) Max (Maxwell) Charlie (charlie) Joe Neil (Nelly Belly) Me (WorcsWuss) Rich Possibles.... Joe (Joe Loggs) Tommy (Tommy_B) Rupe (Rupe)
  4. I don't have the Petzl Top harness, it's just an adjustable fig 8 harness, doesn't connect to a harness. Same as the sling but more expensive!
  5. Probably a shim / washer / guard plate on the crank next to the clutch / drum just rattling around....?

    Jerky

Not sure I'd get away with trying that! Would love to try though, looks great! Just started this thread at the beginning, burst out laughing when I saw Nick's effort and the considered appraisal of his peers!
  7. Looks like it'll remain mystery as well then!
  8. Yes, been watching him on Facebook for a while, right up my street!
  9. Where exactly have you been trying to get it stick with this Vaseline coating?!
  10. I assumed you were more likely to be the one in a mess! My wife tolerates me getting up to all sorts of embarrassing things, like rolling out of bed one night drunk and thinking I was already in he bathroom.....
  11. Honeys might be able to splice one in for you, they offer a splicing service on the ropes they sell.....?
  12. He's a creative chap our Tuttle!
  13. So she was hammered and fell off a bus and you knew she was the one...? Not one for much of a challenge back then were you Marcus  My wife's a pain in the arse. But I wouldn't trade her in. Marriage has lots of good points. If you want to give me a couple of hours I'm sure I could think of one.... Congrats Sam, by the time you decide it was a bad idea you'll have forgotten how good things used to be anyway so it won't matter! And good luck for the new arrival, that really is something else
  14. One of his early pipe smoking ones. He could just have been sucking the gut in and tensing all that he had, I've not met the man mountain in the flesh.... I'm looking forward to some light evenings, I swapped the knobblies on my mountain bike for semi slicks last summer, I have a cross country route taking in some road sprints, couple of steep hills and a couple of miles off road round the farm which I'll start doing in the evenings again soon. I find it incredibly difficult though!
  15. Likewise, that and time. Once our clocks change I'm hoping that will kick start things for me a bit:001_huh: Even seeing photos of Bolam on here makes me feel inadequate!
  16. Their finances are fine, it's the protectionist way they are spent which is the problem. LA's are cutting frontline services over back office bureacracy & senior / middle management in an attempt to shift blame for their failings from local to central government. This presumably makes central government look bad, they get voted out, Labour back in, public sector saved. And we suffer, everything from weekly recycling collections going to fortnightly to roads not being repaired to schools getting reduced funding. LA's & their employees' trade unions are a real problem in my view
  17. Give it a try then softy! I'll have a crack later on, when I'm not in the office, or when no one's around! If I can do one I'll be amazed!
  18. Mentalist... Did you not find they made you dizzy...
  19. I'll have a look in the garden, I noticed we had a few clumps with berries still on the other week but with this recent snow they may have all been taken now.... One clump I set myself, onto an old Bramley with quite rough bark, literally spread a few berries onto it and evidently one or two have set, took a couple of years to get something worth cutting. We're in the mistletoe capital though, it's bloody everywhere round here!
  20. Ace, thanks for posting that. I've never been to a gym, idea makes me want to puke, but now I'm settling well into my 30's and have done an office job for 10 years I'm getting squishy and feeble and seriously need to get my self back in order before it's too late. For the last couple of months I've been doing push ups, sit ups, pull ups [on the shower screen head channel!] and basic suspension to try to start looking & feeling less like a soft little ponce so a few of these [easier ones] will fit in nicely. When the sun comes out I can start doing circuits in the garden again. Still a bit cold and wet for me just now! Need to go retrieve my pull bar from the attic at my parents and put it up in my shed! It's been a long time!
  21. I watched some of his other videos last night to send me to sleep, what an odd fellow.... He speaks like he's black, so much so that on one of his videos of him playing computer games online someone I think refers to him as a 'n*****' and it all kicks off... Most bizarre....
  22. Not great for shockloading either is it? - Slow pull good, V. strong. Dropping lumps bad, low stretch...?
  23. It took me a while to work out the 'yacht club' connection, till I saw the big jobs with the decks and sun shades on. Looks a whole lot of fun!
  24. I think Dan Holliday has a video on YouTube showing how to make one up with an archery bow trigger....
  25. THIS is where I want to go when I die..... Redneck Yacht Club 2013 Punta Gorda Florida Part 1 - YouTube
