  1. Yep, love the black line on the rim
  2. Great news, when you said you're sore I puckerd a little bit :what: Heal quick.
  3. Just check our local amateur weather station, we've had 13.4 inches of rain so far this month, that's nearly 1/2 inch per day! As you can see from the rest of the details we've had quite a nice day.
  4. Thought I heard someone singing born to run up behind ardvergnish today, wondered who it was
  5. I attach a rope (as provided with the hycrack when bought new) to the PTO lever, this is within easy reach of the operator.

    Good bye Arbtalk

    Hornbeam
  7. Then he was an idiot! Not a lot anyone can do to stop people like that trying to kill themselves. On a hycrack if you keep the point of the cone just to the left of the centre of the log and only place your hands at the back and left of the log it WILL NOT bite you, in fact most of the time you end up letting go of the log as soon as the point has taken hold, it then just pulls itself on. As I say this is on a hycrack, can't speak for other types of cone splitter.
  8. Try it, you won't go back nice you've tried it
  9. Just got home to see this, taken from the front garden
  10. Just split closer to the stack then.
  11. Huge amounts of rain over night with some strong gusts as well. Eased off a bit now but still wet.
  12. That sounds one of the dodgiest scams I've e er come across, great way to make it difficult for an "outsider" to get in on the work.
  13. No ospreys here, lots of white tailed sea eagles though
  14. Sounds good to me
  15. Did the same with my cheap b&q router today, switch has been getting dodgy for a while so stripped the switch unit down and found one of contacts was dirty, cleaned it all up, rebuilt it (took about 15 mins to work out the best technique to get all the springs etc back together at the same time) and all is working well. Then went on to make a new "eggs for sale" sign

    Lathe woes!

Mike you are a star and a gent! PM sent Arbtalk comes through again.
  19. Noooooo! Don't do it, they're shocking. The quad version is just as bad. Need loads of parts most of which are totally unavailable.
  20. That's not great mate, just remember there will always be another course in the future. Keep positive Bob
  21. Exactly the same here, been like it all night

    Dream CAR

That Opel is a really pretty car, but the cobra wins for me. Mind you always had a soft spot for some of the older Alfa spiders

    Lathe woes!

Not sure my welding is quite up to that. You're probably right about it needing more support as I inherited 2 spares with the lathe, both of them broken! If needs must I can probably send it off to get it repaired, not sure we have a decent welder on the island.

    Lathe woes!

HaHa For a minute I thought you were going to say you had one! Got the lathe from George behind the MESS, going to blame him for weakening it.

    Lathe woes!

Thanks Mike Just had a look at a few images of the CL1 and it looks like it might just fit, will look out for your post tomorrow.
