  1. That video is very scary, I was cringing as the kid in orange stood up on the beam. Crazy!
  2. I've used the decomp valve before and after burp and it works fine. Just make sure that when you start it after its burped that you flick the switch up, its easy to forget. I agree the decomp valve is pretty pointless and sometimes i dont use it. However when you run out of fuel completely, it makes it so much easier to draw fuel through.
  3. I recently did my 30/31 and you just need some normal gloves, its mainly for the workshop activities on the chain etc. I bought chainsaw gloves but didn't use them, instead I got some of the rubber dimmer builders gloves which are brilliant.
  4. what chains to people generally find are the best for lower vib? I'm trying to find the difference between stihl rapid micro comfort and rapid micro comfort 3?
  5. Yeah it seems to be running as normal Chris, just hasn't been red crud in there before so bit puzzled. Given it a quick blast for few minutes and looked in the areas you mentioned Spud, nothings appeared yet but will look again after its had a bit of work and will report back. Bet it will be a pain now lol. Cheers Andy
  6. Hi guys. Been using husky 346xp and when servicing I noticed a lot of moist wood dust on the air filter housing, it is red in colour which I assume to be 2 stroke oil from fuel. Are there any simple checks/fixes that I can do or look at? Not quite sure where its coming from. Any help would be great. Thanks
  7. My springer Alfie sleeps either on the end of my bed or in his bed in the hallway, usually changes over in the night between the two. When we are out he sleeps on the sofa looking out the window which I hate because he leaves dribble and white hairs on it.
  8. awesome, nice to see the guys in full ppe too and a good explanation of basic forest management to joe public
  9. on quest on freeview channel 038 there is "how do they do it", later on in the program they show how they make chainsaws, looks like stihl. Could be interesting!
  10. As long as it's to the regs I can't imagine it being a problem.
  11. You really should warn people before you put landrover porn up.
  12. another one for the samsung solid extreme. Had mine 18 months at least and its great. Really clear and loud for incoming calls. The torch is super handy too.
  13. I volunteer at a national trust site fortnightly usually. Also help out on grounds maintenance/wardening at local scout campsite too.
  14. woop, i got one too. Couldn't believe how quick it boiled the water!
  15. I'm young and live with the rents so not one of my own for business. It is possible to divert from landline as far as I can see with BT at least, think it's a monthly cost. Calling Features for your landline | My BT Phone
  16. Yup it's business. In reality though its not a big expense compared to the potential jobs it directs. I don't have an office with a beautiful assistant to take my calls so my office is everywhere . A lot of my clients comment that they can't get hold of anyone with other business's or nobody calls them back so when they actually speak to someone they usually go with me without calling about. People love good customer service
  17. I have a virtual landline number for my business and its great, much more calls through. I use this company: Virtual Phone Number UK | Ghost Number | Local Number to mobile They have been great and its not too expensive either, I really recommend them. Edit: also why have a landline number that you won't answer because you're working? People just move on to the next company if no answer, so don't loose business.
  18. Another for the Sloe Gin. This years batch is awesome.
  19. yikes no. Also surely much easier to hold the saw than the wood?
  20. after watching 'how its made' I would suggest a hammock! Get your knotting skills in practice.
  21. i have recently got the trekkers and they're very comfy. I have nothing to compare them to but straight away out the box they're great. Even comfier than my Lowa hiking boots
  22. I have just completed my CS 30/31 this week. The CS30 is easier being weighted towards theory, with the practical bit being fairy easy since there aren't as many variables, just think about what you're doing and don't do anything silly. The CS31 I found harder, its pretty much all practical and awkward tree's etc can make your assessment very tricky. Make sure you get a lot of practice in your 3 types of felling cuts, if you do go wrong its not all doom, you do get chance to redeem yourself on another. We had heavy winds today which didn't help in the assessment.
