  1. try Adrian Flux, they specialise in 4x4 etc. I got insured really reasonably few years ago with my defender 90 with everything you could bolt on to it.
  2. Both would be of help (I like to be varied) and York is fine for me. I'll pretty much travel to most parts of yorkshire. I;m based Just outside Beverley.
  3. Hello. Im Andy (25) new to the game wanting a career change. I have completed my cs30 and doing cs31 next week (with scope to do chipper and cs38 early next year) I have my own saw, ppe and transport. I am just putting the feelers out to see if there is anyone that would like a volunteer for any groundie work to start me on the road with some valuable experience. I would be looking at January time onwards, ill be free weekends and odd days during the week if I have some notice. I currently do a bit of volunteer work with the National Trust as a gardener at Fountains Abbey fortnightly for experience but lacking in any tree focus. Also spend some weekends helping maintain local scout activity centre site, felling small trees and clearing areas etc. I hope that I may be of help to someone somewhere and I would appreciate any knowledge that I may pick up on the way. (I may even bring some jam doughnuts along with me) Cheers Andy
  4. i can think of a 1000 illegitimate ways to use this
  5. Make sure you pick a good one or know someone who knows what theyre looking for to come with you. I bought a dog and there was so much that needed sorting. Got rid of it in the end as at the time I couldnt afford to do the work, now I miss it way too much, I get landrover envy everytime ones mentioned. A good well looked after one should do you many many years though. Id definately buy again albeit wiser.
  6. some interesting reading there
  7. My sister has this app for her android that records any mumblings during your sleep, theres been some right corkers!
  8. It was Hellboy 2 so nothing much of excitement . Previously that evening I had been trying to start 346xp for about an hour before hand after stripping it down for a clean on cs30, really did not want to start!
  9. Didn't think it would take long for someone to bring the tone down!
  10. Has anyone ever found themselves or been told of them doing arb tasks in their sleep? I have just caught myself pull starting as I was nodding off watching a film
  11. Thanks spud, will bear that all in mind if any problems arise. With the idle tweaked to my liking its been working just fine now and idling nicely, was just concerned my mate might end up wrecking his saw if he wanted it set back again to what it was.
  12. would damage occur if it was left idling too low? despite telling my mate, he seems to like the fact it cuts out after a while
  13. Thankyou, will give it a good read.
  14. thanks for that, gonna have a look at see.
  15. would i learn how to adjust that properly on the cs30? don't wanna twiddle things for it to stop working.
  16. I have a 346xp borrowed from a landscaping mate for my 30/31 course. It runs fine etc but after 30 secs or so idling it cuts out, now he says hes adjusted the 'timing' so that it does that. Now I have the manual and cant find anything about that at all, is it even a feature or has he been adjusting the carburettor settings? Or is it knackered?
  17. if they were using rock climbing ropes then they have a fair bit of stretch in them so wouldnt jerk?
  18. Stihl have some on their website, type c's though so probably too warm? High visibility trousers Design C -
  19. they look to have a bit of bite- I wonder if you could wheel spin on stumps as a makeshift stump grinder? I bought some normal snowchains last jan when it was bad, not used them yet but for years ive always moaned that i should get some.Just need a decent shovel now!
  20. other option was stihl ms230
  21. have the 345/350 been superceeded by a new model name? cant seem to find it anywhere. Is it the 353 now ?
  22. What's the general consensus on a Husky 435 as a beginner groundy/general purpose saw? Would love a 346xp but at twice the price, and my tickets to pay for its a bit out of my league for a fair while.
  23. I have seen Briggs and Stratton do a fuel additive. I havn't used it myself but I wonder if it would help? Apparently it stabilises fuel.
