  1. Was talking about this at work today. Also though that a second line, used more like a lanyard with a tail long enough to decent the tree coiled in a small bag on harness a workable solution?
  2. In that or any self rescue scenario, it it was me using 2 full lines, id immediately ditch the second line and decend normally. Ffs its an emergency! Any good?
  3. Aye andy, mines a solid fuel rayburn, dont think youd ever need an engineer for one of them, and they do 13kw to hot water or something mental like that. They a made like tanks. Prolly if you intend on having both fires lit most of the time then a 2 heat source system would be ok, but if one is for an evening heat boost in a sitting room i wouldnt have this on a bb as it really effects how much heat output to room they give out.
  4. basically your knackered in a power cut unless you do this as you will quickly have boiling water in your back boiler
  5. did it myself, but have since seen a few other peoples systems and been very impressed - a pal has got rads all over his house all working on gravity in ways that look impossible (he got a plumber in )
  6. Oh and id go for 1 fire doing rads and hw, rather than 2 and more complicated system. Just make sure the back boiler you have is up to doing the rads you require, as irs not much fun trying to get the house warm if the bb is too small ( been there). Currently have a rayburn 355. Very good.
  7. It should be easy enough to setup a thermasyphon radiator or two and have yer cylinder all circulating without the need for a pump. In my house 1 rad downstairs and 3 up stairs all work without a pump as does the hw cylinder ( make sure its a proper gravity fed one). When the pump is on the rads just get a bit hotter.
  8. You can buy marlow bungee elastic off ebay in many thicknesses. Dont know if that helps? Is what i made my diy haas from
  9. Last time i looked the back boilers on these werent meaty enough to do central heating and hot water cylinder. Which seemed daft cos they look pretty nice and also seem very efficient to use
  10. If using a bike pump ( i do) you need a proper decent one rated for alot of psi like the sks rennkompressor 230psi. The cheap ones just break
  11. Does it pump up on a tyre valve? Looks great
  12. I imagine these could be handy. Just stitch up 2 full climbing lines and jobs a gooden
  13. 2 x neck tethers 2x foor ascenders 2x haas Lols
  14. I'm looking forward to the time they request all rigging must be done with twin ropes etc

That seems incredibly poor. Sorry to hear that.
  16. Also have a look at the chain. Check the drive links arent peened over. Have a had carving chain seem slack then run tight when in use. Turned out the chain was foobard - when you remove it you will know if the rivets arent moving freely.
  17. Can be got from italy now MAKITA motosega elettrosega 36v brushless 25cm solo corpo DUC256Z ROVER.EBAY.COM Assistenza Rapida Garantita. Produtti Nuovi Di Fabbrica. Le caratteristiche dei prodotti vengono sempre prese da schede tecniche dei produttori che possono cambiare senza preavviso. Tutti i prodotti in vendita sono nuovi.
  18. Had saws which appear good and sharp cut straight and cut well then appear to stop almost like they have hit metal....rails were worn and chain just flopped over a bit from time to time in the cut and stopped cutting.
  19. Dress the rails on your bar. And measure the gap between them and check its not over worn. Also check its the correct gauge chain for the bar
  20. Agree its very difficult! Basically if someone wants a carving im keen to do something whatever the budget, its just hard to say its finished when you know with a bit more time it could be lots better!
  21. Thanks, their budget was 2k. So by the time I'd got the timber, done some drawings and delivered it ( 1.5 hours away) wasn't a whole lot of carving time on each one. Not complaining at all. But just interested in what others would charge/ achieve with a similar budget. Definately felt like i had to just whizz through these and not get caught up in the details ( like getting the hands tweaked and spot on). Would have liked to spend alot longer on them!
  22. Certainly are. Cant wait to see what they are like in a decade.
