The dmm hook is going to be far better than some ebay jobby. It's designed by an industry leading manufacturer for a specific purpose. Is also not really the kind of thing many people would sell. Mine lives in my bag for weeks at a time until it has a job worth using it on, then it's invaluable. You may get lucky though and find some college leaver that's bought all the kit then realised they can't climb.

Fair enough, the model that I sometimes use is a 235mx I think, which is 7.5" or thereabouts? Probably double the weight of a 150. -

Because its crazy! If you buy an 88 have a longer bar so you don't have to double cut? I reckon a 66 on a 30" would cut faster than an 88

I'm with Matty, the appeal is the lack of weight and the smooth constant torque. It keeps that 660 off my harness for just that bit longer. It's still the best saw I've used apart from the 2511 in terms of power to weight, but it's not a total game changer. It does make my life easier though.

I'd wager the people suggesting these rates aren't the ones paying them. It's one thing paying a shit hot groundy/team leader £160 as a subby, but nobody is getting that on the books.

How are you wearing the harness. A lot of people seem to wear it over the hips. I think it's designed to be worn beneath them.

If I could only have 2 saws it would be 2511 and a 500i Would cover most things I reckon.
