  1. All good answers the covenants will be on the deeds held by the property owner and on the land registry website for 6 quid. Its up to the person who placed the covenant to sue the new deed holder if there is a breach of a covenant but its usually a threat to sue as it will cost a lot and they may still lose. Judge may favour new owner etc. Most properties have some, mine has no pigs,no business use and must maintain fence on western boundary.
  2. 60.00 a cube delivered from dereham for hardwood is a very good price.

My brother is an assessor and second cox you'll love it! Bit too computerised for me though.
  4. What you get on a truck is loose or throw cubic metre as steve said. You will need to throw it into the cube box randomly not stack neatly to be able to compare volume against the 5 cube load. If your log store is 5 cube and you stack a 5 cube load in it you will have room to spare and be disappointed!
  5. Goes to show how dumb this country is, protected in one county and shot in the next!
  6. One of the best machines i have used for small scale use is an army supacat. I would give teeth to have one again!
  7. Rob you were mentioned in the eastern daily press yesterday, there was a Mrs Green looking for her two walnuts to be taken down for free by the sounds of it and the gardening expert said you would be interested!
  8. Steve you have hit the nail! We sat down last night to work out finances on both our businesses and the logs are producing me 9.67 before expenses thats less an hour than the wife pays for help on her livery yard!
  9. Its the extra revs it gives if the wood gets tough, it seems to go up a notch? love it but the cottage next to the woods doesn't, moaned about the noise!
  10. The best saw i've ever had, old thread i know but so chuffed with it! Lighter and so less fatigue but so much power and better balanced. Flat felling cuts everytime.
  11. Same old squit no one interested and the few who were where offering 2 quid a cube.
  12. Could you not say the same about cordwood, everyone always looking for the cheapest. Is cordwood worth producing anymore?
  13. I just keep my price a touch cheaper per cube and offer a bigger load. One large estate last year over-priced and had to drop their prices a few times. The estate near me has thinned all they can and has to buy it in now. The harvesters are too big for whats left so i still have a job just! One consultant told me to hang in there the harvesters won't be viable for ever.
  14. Just remember they got it very wrong last year even though the data stated otherwise. They are cautious at the mo but saying there's more chance of it being colder than last winter!
  15. There is softwood cut and stacked everywhere here, lots still lying in the woods un-extracted. The sawlog market has dropped and biomass wasn't needed last winter. I've been told it will all go for biomass they hope this winter.
  16. That's good Steph, i must say i struggle to keep it felled, stacked and split. Always wish i'd done more over the summer and i wish people would buy softwood have loads of well seasoned stuff but only sold 4m last year. With money getting tight i thought the cheaper price would appeal but softwood is a dirty word!
  17. Just read all the posts, i would give my back teeth to have access and even ownership of 47 acres of mixed woodland. So many wood markets you can explore when you own the timber but as long as you do the work yourself or have someone trustworthy working with you.

  19. Chris have always used haix but last time went for meindl and can find no fault what so ever. Not sure which ones mine are but are goretex, vibram sole, memory foam inner and are a dead ringer for the haix. Never clean mine and still going strong after 6 months, dealer did them for 140.00. Woodlander as you said, doh!
