  1. Laser super dooper height finder thingy, £650.... Climbing up and knocking the head out of it to be sure, priceless Never had the need for anything like that, not even a stick or a protractor on a string. scenario 1: "ok i think its going to land about here" quick look around for targets "ok knock it down theres plenty room" scenario 2: "ok i think its going to land about here" quick look around for targets "going to be a bit close to this, take a few meters off it first and knock it down" scenario 3: "ok i got my laser thingy and it says it will land exactly here, knock it down it will fit" "i cant you spent all the cash on the stupid laser thingy and never bought a saw" I guess your laser thingy could be great for certain things but to me its pretty useless for cutting down trees, will it for example tell you the bounce factor? you can be as precise as you can but there is still bounce, rolling and bits breaking off and flying through the window of that bently. Cool tool but not for me:thumbup1:
  2. I am a bit of a hippy for these things too and feel bad when i cut trees (strange i know). I also see the point that its going to be cut no matter whether i do it or someone else, so i would rather it was me because i have the respect for nature that i feel is lacking in a lot of people. We have to live together with trees and everything living for that matter, but sometimes there just isnt room for everything in the same place and the strongest (or smartest) survives, as nature intended. So it is the natural way of things and thats what keeps me sane to think that way
  3. Same as i do in the summer except i dont sweat so much and there is no leaves to tidy up so generally its much better in winter. Also its better in most cases with trees to trim in the winter so what the question should be is "what do you do in the summer?" i go on holiday and generally laze around enjoying the long days and sun (sometimes) oh yea and i work with trees and ropes and chainsaws:001_rolleyes:
  4. Try clark forest, good prices and fast next day delivery:thumbup1:
  5. cool i like the beard option, i must be great:lol:
  6. now were talkin Coffee of champions that:thumbup:
  7. what felix said
  8. That does seem a bit extreme for buying a helmet. If its just firewood you are doing why not just get ear muffs and safety glasses? you dont need a helmet if there is no chance of falling objects.
  9. Cracking thread this one David Dont know how i missed it before now...
  10. oh yea i forgot about this thread.... the imori rocks
  11. no vids as yet but will be getting a video camera soon and hopefully a helmet cam at some point as well:thumbup1:
  12. ok looks like its sorted now, i hope:confused1: i am real bad with technology and never know if i did something right or not, gimmie a tree any day:thumbup1:
  13. ok the one i just did now seems to be working i think but says "pending" while the first one i did is active but with nothing written i think:blushing:
  14. it was written like 2 minutes before i posted but i will try again anyway cos human error on my part could well be the cause:blushing:
  15. I hear what you are saying and understand because i drink all coffee if its on offer:thumbup1: The thing i dont like is these companies selling what they call expresso or capuccino etc when it just isnt. If you want to know what they are supposed to taste, look and feel like then the only place that does it right that i have found is Italy, they did invent these tipples after all. Only place here that i would say does a proper coffee is a little place called artisan roast here in edinburgh on broughton street but they could do with learning some speed barista skills cos you need to wait for it zzzzzzz. In Italy the word coffee is hardly out your mouth and its sitting in front of you:thumbup:
  16. i filled in all the info but i dont see anything i wrote???
  17. oh yea that too:thumbup1:
  18. is the lime braced? cant quite make out whats going on there. thats a big hole!
  19. As David said, have you any qualifications? probably people thought you dont have any and thats why nobody took your offer. They cant take you on even free of charge if you dont have any CS units relevant to the work, so thats probably why you didnt get any interest. If its a mocking you want then thats no bother to many on here:laugh1: I could even dish out a second hand slagging if you needed:001_tt2:
  20. Guess thats a no mate, i still have a dumb phone so i cant help.
  21. coffee is bitter mate, you just gotta kill the bitterness with a ton of sugar. You are right about the coffee chains though, that is just muck and like i said before, they should learn their trade before selling the crap:thumbdown:
  22. I have been following this thread and the other couple you started for the same job and i am amazed nobody has snapped up the offer especially seeing all the people asking for jobs:confused1: I am not even a year back from Italy and i am very tempted to take up the offer but i am wanting to give Edinburgh a chance first plus i would need to find the good lady a job too. Maybe there just isnt that many serious enough about finding work. If your sitting there with no ties then what you waiting for? even just for the experience alone its worth it:thumbup1:
  23. haha yea well if you ask for milk then thats what you get:lol: If you just ask for a coffee out there you will get an expresso as standard. If you complain and say i wanted a nescafe with milk and 2 you will be lucky if you only get thrown out the shop:001_tongue:
  24. banana and peanut butter sandwiches will rock your boat gents, other than that eat healthy and have a good breakfast to set you up for the day. Oh and plenty coffee:blushing:
