  1. i have a friend with one as well and he loves it but imo treemotion is the top harness right now and i wont be looking for anything else.
  2. ok you got me on the petrol consumption:blushing: it would just feel strange using one of those kiddies saws without a strop attached to it and hanging from my harness:laugh: Anyway better stop derailing this thread or we will get our wrists slapped:001_rolleyes:
  3. i can eat its just your piece box is stuffed full of enough grub to feed a football team! My 460 rocks but i may get an 18" bar cos the 20" is obviously too manly for you:001_tt2:
  4. Next time i am going to look where you go and work as close as i dare:001_rolleyes: I spent most of my day hanging a lot and clearing my brash off the track:sneaky2: Still got 12 tonne though:thumbup1:
  5. Hi, what work are you looking for? full time? freelance? climbing? ground work? not sure i can help much as i am fairly new to this area as well but i do have a few contacts. PM me with your details and what your looking for and i will see what i can do.

  10. If your name isnt David then your parents must have made a mistake
  11. *picks up handbag ready to take a swing* I get the feeling you still dont get where i am coming from so i will try to explain once again.... Its not that i dont like pollards, i love the way trees react to the brutalisation (love that word too) that some humans inflict upon them and find it fantastic that they continue to survive the way they do. What i dont like is trees pollarded for no intelligent reason, like leaves making a mess and wanting a view etc, because as you well know this is a very temporary fix and then the problem is doubled within a year or 2. I like the natural form of a tree 100% over a pollarded tree, why? because thats the way nature intended. If a tree in a forest / woodland park or similar, naturally pollards itself then i like it because thats what nature intended. If you or monkey d or the likes go out to a woodland and pollard a tree to create habitat for nature (because humanity has taken away natural habitat in abundance) then i like it. If a tree is pollarded to use the new growth for something useful then i live with it without necessarily liking it (something like shooting a cow in the head so we can use its meat kind of idea). If street trees are pollarded and maintained then i think "why not just plant something smaller and save wasting money?". I think thats pretty much covered most of it plus i dont want to start ranting but you are welcome to quiz me some if you feel the need
  12. ooh er missus thats a biggie right enough!
  13. Dont you just love days like that:thumbup: All good advice but it wont be easy to get experience without, well... experience:001_huh: Just stick with it and you will get there eventually, be determined and enthusiastic about your goal and you will do fine:thumbup1:
  14. looks very similar to peach leaf curl, obviously its not a peach but could be a similar fungus to Taphrina deformans. Most probably its the bay sucker like rob says trioza alacris or jumping plant louse.
  15. i will try it anyway but only with one pantin for now seeing as i only have 1:blushing: I was only messin with you anyway bud:thumbup1: if you were going over the top of it then it would have been a different story
  16. BOOM! goes the fungus bombshell
  17. what if it was just used to gain access to the crown and then you could just send it down the line when you get there? it was just a thought for a more comfortable ascent more than a tool for getting up, i know sometimes i dont put my hands up fast enough and can nip some skin. Figured it would just be more ergonomic lets say...
  18. Hope you didnt polish its underside too much with the speedline:wink: great video anyway
  19. I just noticed something.... were you speedlining UNDER an ABC lv cable?
  20. great video steve thanks for posting.i was also thinking of maybe adding a hand ascender to the setup just to make it easier to hold the rope above the hitch/SJ. This i guess wouldn't need to be attached to any part of you and will only be used as a grip for your hand.... Any comments welcome please
  21. I thought exactly the same till i got one, after a bit of getting used to i now think its the dogs whatsits. I love the way you can use just one hand to pull in your rope and it self tends below the SJ. Still a lot of cash but its a great tool and a sweat saver for sure:thumbup1:
  22. So far i have seen many reviews on the 201 and it seems its about equal with bad and good reviews. I guess that if you are used to and like your 200 then that will be the saw for you until you cant buy them anymore, THEN you need to make a decision on the 201 OR the new husky. For me i love my 200 and will not even consider buying something different until i cant buy one anymore, it works exactly the way i expect it to and am used to. I have no reason to get something different. Husky top handles i will probably never even consider due to the previous bad experiences with them, the new one may be good but i will never know unless someone makes me try it. I have a 200t and it works well, thats all that is important to me
  23. Nutter:001_tt2: I would be paying particular attention to the central leaders there, from the picture (once i got the crick out my neck) it looks kinda busy in there and there could be future problems with compression fork cracks (included bark) etc. it may be worth taking one of the leaders out now to save problems in the future. It is looking good and healthy anyway:thumbup1: Shame someone butchered it before it would have looked much nicer in its natural state:001_rolleyes: ( standing back waiting for the hama onslaught )
