  1. You have to be careful with statements like that, a fair few sensible folk like Toyota's for whatever reason:biggrin: Where are you based?
  2. Across your four properties and two farms, do you not have a grain elevator or potato conveyor anywhere you could use to shift them into the shed? Alternatively, buy this one or one like it and take off the fence of one side and replace it with a fence in sections. You can then hang the conveyor as high in your shed as you can, the beginning sticking out of the front. Process onto the conveyor, let it move your logs into the shed until they are as far as you want them, then move a section of the fence across the belt so it's diagonally across and it will sweep the logs off the side. Move bits of fence as and when required. One of the big advantages of such a system is that you can put logs anywhere along the length of the conveyor, ie behind other logs if needed. ___________________ _ → ______ ↘ \_____ .................Pile Job done, you're welcome:biggrin:
  3. Because one-word terms like "super, micro and comfort" work in most countries around the world. The people at Stihl serve a rather world-encompassing market and thus have to name their stuff so it can be the same in as many countries as possible.
  4. I reckon the "big man" was well out of order and the train"guard" should be fired. Surely the obvious thing to do for the train guard would be to keep the train going and phone ahead to the next station or the one after that to have a "welcome committee" waiting for the lad. He (the guard) was acting like a coward and had lost control. He was unwilling to try and resolve the issue as it had developed and just dug his dumb heels in and deferred responsibility to the other passengers. Big man's offer should have shook him awake into the real world where he is paid to be in charge of the train. As for big man, he just responded to the actions of the guard I reckon. He was wrong to do so but when the guard said "you'll have the other passengers to answer to" and then when big man asked the guard if it was ok for him to act he must have felt he was allowed to cross that boundary. He was wrong to do so, but I believe he may (must) have felt he was allowed and therefore justified.
  5. you'd do well if you can outbid me... he's sold it once already STIHL MS 250/C, 2011 brand new | eBay
  6. Ok, Thanks. I'd like to donate one of these then, A Fillpartner to fit straight on one's aspen can. Image from fillpartner.nl
  7. Not sure, donating money (or goods) to charity is allowed, spending money on un-neccesary equipment is not:biggrin: I think this is the only way. I just wondered how it works in practice, Do I just state here and now that I'll donate one and have it sent it to the person who wins it? (me, preferrably:biggrin:) Or do I send one to you or..
  8. How does this work then? I'd like to donate an Aspen fill-partner as I'd like one but mrs Rover says as long as the combi-can is fine I'm not allowed one. So I've bought some tickets and would like to donate one so I can win it and keep her sweet.
  9. It is you indeed:thumbup: Sorry I forgot to remember:blushing:
  10. There's an AT member in Peterborough that may have access to some, I can remember him posting he can get loads of it for firewood. I just can't remember his username.
  11. It's a fake. All the stickers are wrong, the colours seem wrong, the shape of the top covers are wrong, there are no flippy caps on it etc etc etc. I've bid £3500 on it, anybody fancy outbidding me?
  12. Don't take any more advise from that dealer? Sorry, could not resist. Petrol does not have the lubricating properties of diesel and can wear the pumps down quite quickly. Especially in a common rail engine as the pumps are built with very small tolerances as they produce such high pressure. I'm no expert on Vauxhalls though, is it old/new? what engine is in it? How far was it driven?
  13. Have you seen the saw? Does the saw even exist? Perhaps it does... 'twas my pleasure, the saw dealer is literally about 200yards from my parents' house and it was nice to be in touch with them. I hope it arrives ok and that you'll have fun with it!
  14. Lined flues will carry noise a lot more if they're just hanging free. The noise transmission is reduced a lot if it's insulated with vermiculite, is it? The other thing is the cowl, or the lack of one. Change the cowl if you can do so easily for a different type, the ones with a band around them are quite good.
  15. There is ofcourse the issue that growing crops for biodiesel tends to cost more in fuel that they actually produce.... And the fact that a tractor costs approximately 200 (!) barrels of oil to produce, a horse can be produced for a little less. And then there is the fact that you are naturally right that a tractor is easier and cheaper to run a tractor versus a horse, but I believe the question was about sustainability, how "green" is your business" not how much profit can you make doing the same job in different ways?
  16. Right then, I'm in the Netherlands now, and buying a 192T for another AT member. My local dealer does them for €365.- including vat @19% (€307 ex vat). postage is about €20. €385 is about £340-ish depending on exchange rate and bank charges. If you are vat-registered in the UK, you do not have to pay the vat. The shop will need your vat number (in advance as it's their obligation to check it's legit) and then they'll not need to charge you any vat. The vat only applies to the saw, not the postage as I'd be sorting the postage most likely and don't want the hassle for the sake of saving you a couple of £'s. (lazy and selfish, I know) If buying three or more, they can do them for €350 inc vat. (€295 ex vat), postage will be a bit cheaper if sending three saws to the same address I suppose. I'm here till saturday, if you want one now I'll need to know before the shop closes today (4pm GMT) as they are ordered in just for me. text me on +44 (0) 7889 774 773. Daniel

  18. Were you parked illegally? Sounds like you were, the only thing you can do is send them a letter explaining why you parked why and how you did. Was it a pay and display carpark? Did you buy a ticket?
  19. Are you trying to tell me a horse won't pull a 12 furrow reversible? I want my money back!
  20. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/21775-cheap-way-empty-your-pickup.html http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/arb-trucks/32841-hello-loadhandler-uk-pickup-truck-unloader.html?highlight=loadhandler http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/firewood-forum/35778-load-handler.html?highlight=loadhandler  Most people seem quite happy with them:thumbup1:
  21. Thanks for all replies. It seems everyone agrees that .co.uk is the way to go. As I own both, I'll redirect .com to .co.uk and watch .com for a year or two. If it gets no or little traffic I'll let it go again. It cost me £10 to get .com for a year but renewal might be more(?) captive market and all... It was Mrs Rover who suggested .com might be better, she likes to think big hence falling for me:thumbup:. I do do some work in the Netherlands as well but it's normally pre-arranged and not dependant on advertising. I though .co.uk might make people feel more at ease, as it's a bit less faceless. Thanks for the warnings of fraud as well. I'm normally quite good at spotting a scam but it's good to be aware. Cheers, Daniel
  22. Now there's a statement I'd like to see backup up with some evidence!
  23. Both my girls had it earlier this year, but were fine with it, just spoty. One of them had one pock(?) up her nostril which was very itchy so she kept on scratching which made it itchy etc. We used stellaria cream to cure the itch.
  24. Cheers but that's not what I meant, the carving bars were just an example. I just meant that I don't want to click on the "click here for full details" bit, I expected the pics to link to the same little page-let. Maybe I'm not thick, just lazy:001_cool:
  25. Looking excellent! As a bit of feedback, I was looking at the carving bars and was a little confused that the pics of the items aren't linked to the "more info" bit. Or perhaps I'm just thick.
