  1. Same here i found my CS30 very useful indeed
  2. Have you tried Riseholme college, lincoln??
  3. Sounds like cypress aphids, the more dense the conifer the worse the problem. Spraying with equity or similar insecticide seems to do the trick
  4. The powerharrow saves to end of time compared to the rotovator. The bomag bw55 is worth a look aswell for small lawns so much better & easier than hand rolling!!
  5. Where i get my turf from has a rotor rake smart kit. do you need good sized gardens we do alot in the 50 to 80 m2 gardens. what do you powerharrow with? compact tractor? how you do small gardens. whats the box grader do in the bottom pic If it were under 100m2 id just do it by hand as its a job to turn it around unless there are empty borders at either end & the ends usually need abit of hand raking to finish off. The blec rake runs on a honda f720. Ive got a bcs camon two wheel tractor that runs a 50cm wide power harrow, the bigger gardens take a little longer but makes a good job. Smaller gardens i power harrow, rake out, roll with the bomag, rake again then roll again. Ive tried many different ways of preping since i started by myself & the way i discribed in my last post as well as this 1 seems to yield the best results in the quickest time. The box grader on the tracked f720 is used to level rough sites before cultivating, ive also got a 3 bar leveling frame that does quite a good job of leveling after cultivating before raking.
  6. We do alot of turfing, we powerharrow instead of rotovate, then usually get the blec rotorake out or handrake if its a small area & to finish roll it with a bomag bw55. If we use the blec re-raking isnt necessary, hand raking usually has to be raked over again just the once. Makes laying alot easier we dont have to use boards either or have to walk on the laid turf. Bomag rollers definately worth the investment!!07598 821668
  7. elh???
  8. I use a chemical called equity £140 for 5 litres
  9. Ive already got a ht131 & am now looking into getting a long reach hedge cutter. Will the hedge cutting head fit onto the pole pruner ok or am i best to get a hl100 or a kombi unit with hedge cutter attachment? I would be interested to hear from any one who has done this & any problems you have had with it? Thanks
  10. Does any one else use the hedge cutting head on a ht131? My stihl dealer told me it would damage the shaft on full extension as its telescopic rather than fixed like the hl100?? & it wasnt the sales man it were one of the guys in the workshop that told me that!
  11. My local dealer charges £15 + vat, they uses a grinder & they never take it apart to do it either!
  12. A file or a grinder will do the job
  13. Same here!

    Honda CRF100

A crf150 small wheel would be a better bike, the crf100 is a bit of a lame horse in my opinion for what its worth. Then if he want to go to any proper tracks when he is more used to it he can.
  15. The yellow die back is quite significant from this time last year when i cut it. My initial thought was that the ladybirds were feeding on the insects killing the hedge, definately no need to bring more ladybirds in as there were loads. The trouble with monitoring it is that i only go once a year & the old dear is 93 a hard work to say the least!
  16. Can you still get away with burning the waste off site? Environment agency stopped me doing it 4 years ago!
  17. Been cutting a conifer hedge for a regular customer & noticed a few areas of yellow die back. In the past ive sprayed an insecticide problem solved! Although this time ive noticed there are loads of ladybirds present, are they feeding off of the insects causing the damage? Or just there by chance? Unsure whether to spray it or not??
  18. I live about an hour & a half away & have just bought the container abit out of my contact area though
  19. Hi is there any one in the gainsborough (girton) area with a teleporter that could lift a 10ft container onto a trailer for me in the next week or so? Thanks
  20. What does the 'aw' include ive already got 1 & 6?
  21. Could you not cut it at the base then spray the re-growth? Instead of spraying the whole hedge?
  22. Looks like a willow to me!
  23. Felco all the way!
  24. I use a stihl hs81r 30 inch, am on my 3rd one now ( i cut alot of hedges) they seem to be the best 1s for what im cutting, reliable too!
  25. Grazon 90 seems to have worked quite well for me. 200ml in 16 litres & it wont kill any grass
