  5. life is not easy and i totally agree with ted, i had quite a few set backs over the summer as well, people are not easy to deal with at times i would offer a small reduction, bill for the 8 hours work, right it off as a loss and off set against tax, ideal i would have either offer to organise the hole lot from the start including the bat guys or had a contract, I know how you feeling at the minute as granny has dome the exact same thing Saturday night though see was Reeling (age 72) and still very active. so she is due to have a full hip today of tomorrow, it not good but it may be a god send in other way too, as she is trying to run a farm, clay shoot a huge garden, play tennis twice a week, but is stuck in her ways at time that are not conductive to business but wont let up date kit when it needed. i just hope she it does not set her back. ps i hope your mum get better soon as well

  9. that is a very open question as there are lot of variables to concider like what are you processing( arb waste or round timber), size, what other equipment you have access too, how do you store your logs, volume to be processed, budget, are they for you self or do you sell logs. the are just a few
  10. keep her and get one of these axe | eBay but on a serious note if you think you will miss it then don't sell it get a axe and do an hour a day for a month or 2 after work if you selling the logs then you should go along way to buying a splitter

  13. I think the best person to ask on here is rowan lee as he drives a 79 for work in ireland which replaced a landy 110. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/arb-trucks/35282-our-new-79-a.html
  14. I put it in to prospective the station I worked on the roads were full of wash outs and corrugations off the roads were like driving down the lane full of potholes as the sand would gather round any bit of grass chassis would fail over time due to metal fortegge we would pull up 100' bore holes the bull bars life was not easy on they, they would not rust as it was so dry and dusty The manager once destroyed a newish hilux to shoot a dingo he put the engine through the radiator broke the chasse in 3 places, they recon that dingo was the pack leader as they 5 more soon afther that and they reckon that pack it was costing them $60000 a year and they had been trying to getting them for 3 years (they were south of the dog fence)
  15. you don't have to replace them as much as they last longer and less down time than a landy , if people think landys and hilux are tough they just soft when it comes to a g wagon or land crusier
  16. they are not cheep but they are good, and cheeper than a landy I worked on one which the engine pack in at 422000 miles and over 95 % of that was on dirt,

  21. ditto about clarkes
  22. they do pay more to but as it down to the spec and arb waste is not the best
  23. I like the idea of this chain as it should not slip as much http://www.grube.de/joker-v-grade-100-choker-chain-41-186-variation.html
