  1. There is no access from this side, you have access from the side shown in your first picture. If the pulley won't easily slide off then its seized on. slim
  2. If the pulley is turning freely then it should slide off .If it doesn't then look on the top of the housing, turn the pulley and note if the pivot shaft its self is spinning where its riveted over. If it does turn then the shaft is seized in the pulley which can be cured with a few spots of weld where its peened over slim
  3. Would that be a Time-sert insert? I use Filtec coil system which has stepped tap for openining the holes but only use it as I don't get enough plug repairs to justify the cost of Time-sert. slim
  4. Thats pretty impressive given that I use the same amount of wood in an 8 KW Jotul no 3.Its burning for around 180 days per year and only heats one room, what size thermal heat store have you got in your system? Thanks slim
  5. I've done quite a bit of garden furniture cleaning and have found no better way than pressure washing with fan jet , first leave it out in the rain or spray from a distance to soften any mould/moss/lichen, then light sanding when dry to smooth any raised grain. The sheds also sell stuff made from iroko but dont know much about foreign timber
  6. Looks like a 3Hp motor so 2 237.09961 watts x's, say 16p per Kw = 35.8 pence per hour . What you may have to consider, while an electric splitter would be cheaper to run per hour, a petrol one may be faster so split more wood in the same amount of time. slim
  7. To work out the cost of running electric splitter: look at the motor data plate and note how many watts it is rated at....divide the watts by 1000 to find the kilo watts and multply that by however much your leccy suplier charges per KW,thats how much per hour it will cost to run. slim
  8. I have had a chance to take a look at my splitter and what I noticed is that the hoses from the control valve to the cylinder return end and to the tank return has a much bigger bore than the pressure end hose. I guess this allows the oil in the dead end of the cylinder to get back to the tank easier meaning the most of the pressure is used for splitting and not returning oil to the tank. slim
  9. another vote for Holly, I cut down an overgrown Lawson Cyprus hedge and there were several Hollies growing happily underneath. slim
  10. Engine governor working correctly?? I have a log splitter driven by a B&S 5Hp petrol engine , it was made by ABT products in Ross on Wye , I have used it for over 30 years and has been superb so as has been said, correct design is the key! slim
  11. Out of interest, where in the bore are you positioning the ring to measuring the gap, try worn and unworn section of the bore and see what if any difference there is .also are you pushing the ring down with the piston to make sure its sitting square in the bore? Sorry if I teaching to suck eggs and all that!! slim
  12. If you want a scan of the official method of adjustment, PM your email. slim
  13. If you have not tried already, adjust the cable with the red lever all the back and the push lever forward till you have the slowest speed you require, then try the top speed position. If its still not fast enough, what have you got the engine revving at? slim
  14. We have nearly 14 years of using Honda Pros,HRH536 hydrostatic drive and can't fault them. Looking at the Tube vid of the Kaaz, that looks to have the same thin alloy deck of the older honda domestic mower that corroded through if left dirty. I can't tell 100% but the hydro controls look to be just a push bar from stop to flat out The pro has the same push bar but also a variable selector lever that controls how fast the push bar make the mower go when fully forward slim
  15. Tried to edit again but could not, Above should read clockwise and not anti clock. slim
  16. I have found a good rule to follow is: undo the retaining nut/bolt in the direction the blade spins slim Edit: But if blade spins anti clock when viewed from underneath and has a locking tab, it could be a RH thread and not a L Hander
  17. I use These for seals and bearrings. slim Edit:if the seal has gone then maybe the bearring is in poor shape as well?
  18. Well it cost them a sale on an MS150 because I couldnt get one online, bought an Echo Cs260TES instead and am well happy!! slim
  19. This bar fits but may not be the type your looking: 100SDEA041 slim
  20. The mitox looks very similar to the Echo CS-350TES, same engine size but lot less power . slim
  21. Of course it is,my brain was out of gear, or subaru was shorter to spell. I have just stripped a 1999 14hp that had the big end bolts come loose, appart from that it showed little sign of wear, cross hatches in the bore were still clearly visible. slim
  22. I have found the Vanguard engine to be better on juice than kawasaki or honda and arn't they made by subaru? Slim
