  1. good luck anyway maybe there is someone close to you who has built one for you to try but take a spare hand lol just incase you bugger one up mine got me a few times and the winning bidder on ebay when he came to pick up his trophy he even trapped his hand too lol christened it with his own blood ps i spent many a time winding the log screw backwards to get a stuck lump of the screw as you will need plenty power to run one propper and a mad man to operate it lol take care if you do get one and dont wear gloves as the glove will strip your hand to the bone i bet if it gets caught up
  2. hi pete i see you are posting same questions on the mig welding forum too lol
  3. i bought one set up with a 5hp diesel it was poo so dont waste your money you will have more control with a hyd jobby just make sure if you use a small engine bite the bullet and get a 2 stage hyd pump you wont look back honest i took advice on board after i bid won rush,ed in and got a polish log screw n hated it from the off it kept stalling the engine black smoke everywhere and belts jumping off the pullys it was a load of cack you need straight wood a tractor with a screw for it to work but if its arb waste build a hyd splitter
  4. got mine fired up 23.9c 43% rh shorts n tee shirt kettle simmering away nice and got antiques roadshow on but just sat n watched the dorset steam fair countryfile as all its done here is rain all day but hay ho the fire makes up for it all

  8. now theres and important detail in the picture a coat tover tayyyyyyyy pot thats summat i will have to get a taypot wi a jacketton .As i make mine in a cup no taypot so maybe a better brew but pore it from a great hight thus long brew & put a head on me tay make a frothy one or a taylattay lol but seriously my logburner makes a far far better brew after using kettle all summer and then changing over etc very noticable". I just had to be carefull as i used the method statment to wipe my arse last year lol so still rusty using said burner makin a brew but got dog here in front of fire to watch over things trying to trip me up i,am sure he,s swallowed a big magnet as hes somehow stuck to the front of the burner as he,s my project manager
  9. first time this year got my logburner lit and stuck the kettle back on it and noticed that my cuppa tea tastes loads better than a lecky kettle jobby and was wunderin why ??? can anyone explain this as there must be a clever bugger on here who knows there tea pg tips by the way just a better brew

  13. pissistantly raining here wet through n fed up had the shites for 2 days n ache all over oh!! and my brown stars getting sore too"
  14. But does anyone remember ben turpin ?
  15. dont make the same mistake i made make sure your pump is 2 stage or your stuck with a slow splitter if you only got a small engine but it suits me as i only split wood for my own use so single stage pump and 11 hp honda engine does me with a jcb ram cuts through anything but is a tad slow but runs at 3300 psi and pushes around 30/34 tons with a ground down forklift fork as the wedge running 3/4 bsp pipes
  16. St trinians all them naughty girls lol & george formby norman wisdom and all the laural n hardys ALMOST FORGOT saturday matanee when i was a kid at the flicks four kids called the something four always a big adventure based on children finding tresure etc name fails me

  19. So sorry if its messed,em up but usually there paint is very good and i,am sure you need to buy silver wheel paint for wheels as theres a world of differance between them as wheel paint has more pigment aluminuim flecks etc
  20. If i had the details dave i would gladly pass them on but would be offended to any reward a thankyou would be more than enough in my book
  21. thats fine with a maul but the arb waste i get is all knotty/twangs etc very very hard to do without a hydraulic splitter or at worst it gets the chainsaw or benchsaw as its tuff stuff wont split etc
  22. i have to take lansoprazole 30mg for life and more when needed/required all caused i,am told through bending over car engines straining etc especialy after a meal back to work etc rush rush pace of life etc .I wake up at times with acid vomit causing me to induce acid into my lungs causing choking etc > it really scares me at times as i feel like iam drowning in bed it also takes a while to stop the burning in my throat scary stuff
  23. thanks for the replys they made me chuckle lol i have given some of my logs away to 3 friends on mine" when i,ve been mithered and they have gone out got woodburner etc out the 4 people who had them only 2 have now lol makes me chuckle and i wait after they have done an hr or so on a axe etc. I usuall get a call there knackered or have smashed something mostly cracked flags or a lump of board out the shed door lol or asleep in there chair lol when i ring up to see how they got on or given up. Thats why i said i take my hat off to you all its really hard work on the whole handling/ splitting wood to make any moneys you have dam well earned it in my book . Also at the end of the day love the bit being outside sat on a stump listening to the sound of silence on my plot watching the birds etc oh and i,ve got bats now too yes i know i,am bats too lol
  24. this is my 3rd year mauling with a log burner and must say anyone who chops/splits there own wood and/or sells it works very very hard for the rewards ie moneys they recieve for doing this kind of work i take my hat off to you all . I have built my own petrol splitter and very lucky (SO FAR ) to get my wood for nowt but god after diesel for my jeep travel picking the stuff up a big trailer chainsaws/chains petrol the ache,s n pains for days after sore joints etc & it costs a fortune oh forgot storage for seasoning the bills mount up very very fast and the handling/loading unloading etc its very hards work i,am at the moment trying to split it as i unload to save double handling etc i go home absolutly finished right down to cant get my clothes off there soaked through with all the work toiling splitting big rings all day and now at 50 years old i feel it after being a diesel fitter/truck/plant driver in all weathers its took its toll on my body i get the lot no grip in my hands pins n needles my joints get very painful too so well done to you all who after droppin trees all day then go back to the yard n start splitting for a few hrs i dont know how you do it and deserve more in my book you work too hard i think
