  6. i jacked my job in as a hgv/plant fitter at one place i worked for >>because when a young fresh faced new transport manager came to be my new boss lol with a book full of how long it should take to fit a gearbox or replace a truck engine etc" & all i had was myself and a young lad to steamclean grease make tea etc and 33 trucks plant cars etc to look after it was questions/meetings all the time why did it take you all afternoon to fit a clutch in a bin wagon ? when it only takes 2.15 hrs to do" in the book etc i loved the job but hated my employers for putting me in this position and after 12.5 Years i jacked because its the same everywhere rush rush much wants more ian,ll do it etc it made me ill and very short fused when i get asked how long will it be or hav,nt you done that yet etc ahhhhh it made me so mad not being able to do a good job rite first time instead of rushing/bodgin jobs etc so i thown the towel in and would never go back to that sort of pressure ever again
  7. i love the hydraulic tank hicc,c thats a beast what engine has it got fitted ??? i did mine so it can be upgraded bolt on 11hp engine bolt on pump bolt on beam went for 6000 psi pipes so i can but" dont need to up the hyd pressures its strong as it is working at 3200 psi but have had it running @ 4500 psi the 2 rsj,s beams i welded together dont like it lol so i play safe i needed something tough as i only get arb waste lots of knotty stuff etc but works great and i can use it on my own from either side just got to sort my lighting out now with these dark nights etc
  8. this is mine she,s called MATILDA my first ever go at building one out of scrap bits n some parts from ebay>>> all done with a single phase oxford oil cooled welder and well chuffed with her sorry to sound a big head but really suprised myself and also helped me keep my mind busy etc
  9. found this on another site but a bit worried with all the melons on the back bouncing around inc the sparky wood there using and flames from the fuel can other than that quite a safe overloaded truck lol
  10. Would it not get a bit weighty all that round your head etc i had something saminsh when fishing rechargable but the battery life was rubbish being halogen old stuff i know but was heavy on the noggin and no matter how tight i had the straps the battery pack had a mind of its own with the weight etc put me right off it and now sat on the shed shelf usless sorry mate

  12. just to revive this topic i,ve been struggling to see tonight so i,am looking at fitting a led worklight or lights to the rear of my jeep roofrack as mostly i,am working at the back on trailer or log splitter so thinking led,s the way to go low battery drain etc as my jeeps fitted with 2 large heavy duty batterys so i,am thinking i will get many hrs lighting without killing the jeep from starting up etc can anyone reccomend any decent led work lights that will mount easy to a roof rack
  13. and on that note then this is mine took a while but got there in the end
  14. i thought all oil comes out the ground like trees do " & it also burns the same smokey :001_rolleyes:
  15. i feel sorry for him the pain he must of suffered etc he wont be making that mistake ever again poor sole
  16. any jobsites i,ve been on GCA costain airports water treatment works etc use your phone and your off site and banned from any other sites too as its noted in your records sp i guess when they check your cscs card and other details etc. I was once working on manchester airport airside and the son of one of the formen had been in a scuffle outside a pub in wales over the weekend but was escorted from site and i never seen him come back on while i was there for over 2 years how they know i,am unsure maybe disclosure but i would be thinking if your using your phone your not focused on whats going on around you and your workmates etc not good
  17. Thats deffo water in oil jet washed off maybe ?? and as its only a small engine would only need a small amount of water to emulsify the oil ie frothy oil syndrome if its hydraulic,ed just check the piston sits at the top i,e bent a con rod hope not and all works out ok for you. also in the pictures does the breather return from crank case to air filter if so thats poss how its got onto/into the bore etc
  18. spot on worked on the dog so why not at only £1.10 2 tubes do you for 2 months
  19. i,am guilty too" as i,ve cooked stews soups for last 2 years & 2 kettles on 24/7 ideal for the dishes just got to get myself a decent teapot yet to sit on the trivet i picked up lately
  20. he,s found them in the past but i,ve taught him to leave them alone now as he use to go nuts in the garden when hedge hogs are out etc i think its all the long vegitation around my plot where i store my firewood etc he just goes of moochin around but does find them under the log pile hiding away etc he just sits wimpering and whining at the log pile etc as he,s a terrier etc its in his blood to root about etc and i keep the brambles/nettles high to help keep people coming through the back door so to speak
  21. can i ask what your doing in your shed pease log tter etc ?? only i,am thinking on the same lines by fitting a alternator from scrap yard as theres room on the engine to fit a pully belt etc thus lighting anywhere so to speak to charge a battery start a flat battery on car etc and run lights as long as your splitting wood etc may add a radio too lol pimp my splitter
  22. Ive had to cancel his vet appointment for his yearly jabs in the morning as i feel ashamed to be honest i,ve just spent another 20 mins rooting removing the ones i,ve missed but the baby ticks are so small on his nose i,ve left,em alone to die off as i,ve give him a good dose of spot on etc so as soon as i,ve got him clear i will get him off to the vets for his yearly mot i dread it to be honest as he bites anyone in a blue uniform so has to be muzzled because he wont let them near him i think a vets is the worst place to take your dog as every man and his dogs there with one thing or another wrong with them so i think its all to easy to catch stuff from the vets etc
  23. is it a one off ?? or every day with the chainsaw as i suppose as its you neighbour i would get fed up everyday with a chainsaw buzzing away try and come to some agreement give n take n all that i just hope you dont fall out over a noise problem put it to bed so to speak ask him to give you a lift lol when logging up & few quid etc would change his thinking ;lol
  24. you never here of that old chinese art thesdays rattafooey as in cungfooey lol and on that note i,ll get my coat:vroam:
