  1. NICE TIP THANKS i will try that in the morning i have 2 bottles so will give it a go sorry i ment 47kg not 57kg
  2. I just a quicky question how much do you pay for a 57kg calor propane where you live i,e does it vary much i,ve just been told £67 for north wales ll65 post code but as i,am in a wa9 area st helens i will try again in the morning local to me as its been 2 years since i bought a fresh one
  3. i got to say my wood shed was full to the roof with wet logs and i did,nt get round yet to splitting it but its deffo reduced by about 10" in height as its dried out in the last 2 years
  4. grizzly addams now he could chop trees down and a stern look from him was enough
  5. tis a killer i know as i hit nails for fun latley
  6. man who chops his own wood gets a warm twice of same wood old man wih his flies open says dead birds dont fall from there nest
  7. no only joking about lol i got thissssssssssssss Casio GW-M5610BC-1ER Mens G-Shock Black Chronograph Watch NEW RRP £175 | eBay as its had good reviews i will give the plastic watches another try as my last casio looks like it had exploded its now in the box of other broken watches next to my man drawer and i bet you all have one old screws pens that dont work old mobiles flat batterys etc etc lol
  8. WELL I,VE finally took the plunge and bought a battery for my old watch instead £5 fitted lol but got to keep it in my pocket as the straps/case is bust where the pin fits
  9. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! i just cant choose a watch lol it pains me to pay mad money for a plastic watch so i,am looking at the plain old steel case army watch,s me thinking there the strongest of the breed so to speak n cheap n simple like me and also there are lots of them on ebay etc no plastic straps to snap and at £20 for a g shock strap,s a bit much me thinks and as for the suunto,s theres a few complaints about trouble steaming up etc
  10. i,am thinking of getting one of them ex miltery watches they look good and strong etc and fit a velcro strap with a bit of stretch incase i get it caught up etc and the battery cover is small so the back wont fall off lol knowing my luck i will get mugged and nicked before it gets busted and thrown in my broken watch box there must be around 10 or so bust watches in there lol from timex to seiko to nickynonames
  11. just been looking on ebay and them sunnto watch,s look massive like a divers watch ??? are they
  12. wow cant get over all these posts"" the g shocks look to much bells n whistles etc just want a watch that tells the time but can stand some abuse from either oil water vibes from a saw and rooting round the back of a engine on the spanners etc as i have thick wrists the straps or where the strap pins fit usually fail on the plastic casios i,ve had in the past and too old to climb everest etc so no need for anything fancy
  13. I was thinking today after keep walking back to my car to see the time as i,ve just busted my phone screen gets scratched to death keys in pocket etc so it got me thinking would a watch stand up to the day to day use off lobbing lumps of tree about etc when i,am sorting my log pile out down my plot etc i have a cheap lorus anlogue face but the velcro strap is a pita keeps coming undone and falling off and the last plastic casio just exploded apart lol as though the plastic went brittal with muck n oil i suppose you get what you pay for
  14. good post this"" lots of good tips in the reading well done everyone i,am really enjoying the pro,s n cons of how much thought goes into removing a tree i admire you all as i,am only a mear woodburner lol and know nowt" well done lads a very very good read
  15. if you use it for loading at differant job,s hire reward etc i would stick with white fuel only .Things would be very differant if you was carrying a fixed load say cherry picker /crane/ some road sweepers or council gritter as in vehicle and only use not hire reward etc or you just say crossing from field to field over public highway i think you can get a cert for that but only within a certain radious of your base etc like a farmer so to speak its also linked to its taxation class too" agri/plg/goods etc etc i,ve seen a company working on a building site called john rouse with a tractor trailer fined £500 for having red fuel in as it was taxed for the road and was loaded with drainage pipes on hire to another contractor called costain so it was hire reward etc
  16. all i can see is part of a saw a head & a hand ??????????
  17. pitty the valve caps ar,nt on show & i bet they be well waxed n polished
  18. i,ve had my isuzu trooper 13 years now 161000 miles and still goes well its got a gtw of 6360kg the trooper weighs in at 2000kg without trailer but dont think it would be fare to pull over my trailers gross of 2600kg but then again i always would be tempted if i had a 3500kg trailer
  19. peeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeee mmmmmmmmm ddddddd you
  20. Look at this way - if you miss 80% of metal that's 80% less metal you've hit - rather than aiming never hit metal again. true 20% miss is better than 100% hit lol its just so mind bending when i hit metal 3/4 times in one day does my head in and wrecks the chain sometimes i have to grind/file 25/35% of the cutters to bring the chain back to life after hitting steel etc makes me cringe when i hit summat grrrr
  21. JUST HAD A LOOK thanks for the link etc thing is it only goes to 8" i,ve hit metal in the center of a 3ft trunk when logging etc so would think i need somthing that would go say 15" or am i way of the mark i suppose when ringing up i could wave the detector over the face of the log but still need it to go around 15" as my fire will take 17" logs all day as i can fit upto 21" and want or would like to cut to suit my fire to save work n fuel cuts etc or am i barking up the wrong tree and need to re think my metheod of search for metal in wood as some of the logs i get are riddled and i just throw them to one side for bonfire night etc
  22. my good friend from ashtreecare sean has been so kind to let me clear up the unwanted logs you know the stuff twangs n knotty stuff etc thats hard and punish,s his log splitter etc i find it burns longer and its free etc and i,am greatful for but when cut up with my chainsaw with a decent oregon multicut chain on etc sorry for blabbering on!!. Anywayi,ve hit a drainpipe some barbed wire nails screw in hgook,s etc etc so i,am thinking of a metal detector rather than sitting down with a kippered chain filing away over and over again down at my plot on a nice day when the mood takes me etc"" but its getting to be a pain now buggering my chains up SO WHATS THE BEST ACTION JUST KEEP GOING OR SAVE UP FOR A DECENT METAL DETECTOR AND WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR ??
  23. ps i had them old chainsaw boots on the other day there really comfy lol forgot who sent them but very very greatful to you all i,ve not dirty,d the new boots yet geoff but pants gloves all been on very greatful and will never forget your kindness i cant put it into words really but i hope you all have a very safe and fruitful lives you deserve it thanks
  24. thanks everyone i seem to get my mindset energy form what i,ve just built outside my back door the log splitter i mean even though it,s sat unused at the moment i will get round to running it for a few hours soon etc i just need to get round to sorting the pipe work out and may leave it tatty looking like a rat splitter or nicey nicey painted splitter but then theres every chance it,ll get nicked if i leave it alone on plot and thats then another thing to worrie about i,ve made it narrow 4 ft so it will go on my plant trailer 2 birds one stone to save double trips i can just split n load around splitter on trailer as its got 3ft greedy boards and then theres always the back of my jeep and all the cack can be left on site with any luck lol to be honest its been very very had juggling bils and spare moneys to invest in my splitter but i dont smoke or drink so have spent time building this log splitter out of other peoples junk and really do feel like i,ve acheived something even though i have worked it yet i keep looking at it in wonder see that i did that etc it has lifted my mood but just hope its not short lived i will get there in the end >>>>>>>>> ONE DAY i just hope none of you lads ever have to go through what i,ve had to endure life suckes at times sorry to ramble on
  25. thanks for asking iam getting some help now but i feel like i,am trying to get up a slippery slope some days are ok others are when i feel really low etc and breakdown for no reason . I must not try to stop living in the past and move forward with my life this NHS malarky is a slow job i,ve been under the nut doctor for about 5 weeks now he even wanted to know when did i start bashing the bishop etc" . A very strange question to ask it quite shocked me to be honest so i told him it all started this morning waiting at the bustop but had to stop when the bus came to take me away lol for me to play snakes n ladders with the alcholics etc its not for me i would rather have some one on one help not that i need a hand masturbating etc lol my doctor say s my word you have a strong grip as i shook his hand update so far is i dont sleep well as my mind wont switch off but then again sat in my garden at 4 am with a brew it,s great listening to the silence then the dawn chorus comes on like as though someones thrown a switch on makes me realise its good to be alive even though i feel dead and empty inside and when i,am asked how are you i just have say i,am ok etc my only solice is my plot where i can go and sit in silence watching the wrens longtail tits robins etc and i,am sure that log pile is growing by the day lol
