You could confirm your thoughts on weights by checking design weights against plated weights .Then that would give a good idea what the vehical can carry safely etc but not legally so to speak and back to air bags they absorb more road shock by miles thus giving your motor a easyer life than springs do" so less damage to the vehical longterm etc. I might be wrong but i thought a vehical with air suspension has less impact/wear n tear to roads too so you pay less road tax but this may only apply to lgv,s
  2. all you need to do is fill the new filter with fuel then refit job done
  3. air bags forever and uprate the plies in your tyres your van will handle better with a load on etc not squishy tyres under load also your van wont look as though its on its bum when loaded too

  5. I RUN 3 SAWS ON 75LPX AND ALSO HAVE 2 OREGON MULTICUT CHAINS FOR DIRTY WOOD SLEEPERS /POLES ETC IVE NOT HAD A PROBB SO FAR sorry caps no slack chains either unlike the carlton i tried in the end i only did 3 cuts it,s now hung on a rusty nail " where it belongs in my shed to rust with the nail

I was looking on the box on a carlton chain i got as a spare with the stihl saw i bought from ebay it says made in usa so are they any good as my chainsaws have all got either stihl or oregon fitted i even asked our local stihl repairer he tells me he sells loads no probs but iam stihl very wary of change etc and as there half the price i suppose you get what you pay for ??

  9. thanks rob iam in no rush etc but would like to watch n learn so to speak as i dont intend to do too much climbing i just want to stay safe etc more inportant is how not to get into trouble and know how to get out of it etc i got a harness but its for climbing steel work not trees it looks overkill to me but the guy i got it off etc told me its tagged up n tested etc i got a hat too etc just not got the pants yet n only my saftey boots lol these woodburners arn,t that cheep to feed lol let me know please rob when your in the area i will bring my camera to do some nice picc,s of you too if thats ok

  12. i have bought some s/h bashling spikes a few months ago and one of the bottom straps snapped as i might only use them once lol as ive just started to collect wood etc for a log log burner me and my cousin fitted should of done it years ago etc . I have managed to sorce my wood off the floor so to speak" but i have been asked to help on the odd ocations friends and family so got a harness now too of a pilon climber friend so was wondering can or has anyone got any spare straps or strap spare as i may not ever use them and would just sit around in my kit bag un used for months etc as iam out of work and money tight etc i can only thank sean from ash tree services for letting me have some wood to season for next winter etc my mates let me have use of some land/plot so i have built a wood shelter now and i,am quite proud of how its turned out i made it out of telegraph poles and s/h roof beams and roof sheets i,am from sutton st helens and would be very greatful of any help and advice please but please dont start on me because i aint a climber etc iam thinking of going along to watch and learn first of my climber friends etc first do,s n donts etc as i have only got my cscs n cpcs so have a bit of common sense but want to live n learn not hurt myself in the process
  13. THANKS ROB I WAS ONLY JOKING ETC a nice chap called clive has a larger spool head for me so will give that a go see how i go etc so i can carry on helping out the oap,s around me i just hope one day i find a stihl model that suits my needs etc as ryobi dont come close etc for longevity etc

  17. i would like a stihl to be honest but what model would be best suited as parts etc for stihl are easy to sorce etc i just not a clue with the numbers etc what they mean n such

I was thinking of getting a second hand strimmer as moneys tight out of work at the moment etc and would like some advice please i use a 25 cc ryobi at the moment but the spool that holds the line is a pain it dont hold much and it aint thick enough for my uses etc what i use it for is my garden borders approx 60ftx30ft and my front 2 front gardens and i have 2 neighbours who are pensioners i look after there lawns etc and also the odd job friends and family etc but dont get or exspect payment just all done with goodwill etc i was thinking of buying a secondhand stihl from someone local tree surgeon etc what model should i go for as ebay is a mine field for me and dont want to part with my brass n buy the wrong thing etc or should i just save my money up and buy a new one with that will take some line that will last a while as i would only say use it once a week or once every 2 weeks

  20. Hi as a newbie on here i was wondering what to do with my ash left over from my wood burner as it got anything left in it for my veg plot or garden ? any advice would be nice thanks its a shame to just throw it away if it can be re used
  21. Got our severn on now been running 3 days but cant get our dog out from front of it i have to drag him on his blanket out the way to load it back up with wood lol and then drag him back lazy dog lol
  22. I just got reading my stihl handbook for 361/341 stihl,s and it,s only a year old stihl state use a 50:1 mix with stihl oil but mix 25:1 any othere brand oil ?
  23. if you smell chain oil it smells like hypoid gear oil anyway so tinks its very near ish and gear oil desigh it for high stress heat etc
  24. cheers for that i will go with stihl then as the stihl i got on it now has been ground up looking at it just now etc" its also blue on the edge so would think its kiffuffled now. I got it as a spare saw from ebay etc about 12 months ago so only gets used about once a month as a spare back up saw and on fitting a new chain the faults not gone away thus it dont get used much so new bar me thinks best for it then
  25. good thinking i got my chain fron steve chainsdirect he,s been very good to me and will go check that out were only human lol we all make mistakes that maybe the problem i will check the bar now "
